SolarFix treated me like family....
When an error message and a red light appeared on the inverter screen of my 12 year old solar system indicating the inverter was not working, I called the manufacturer to see what to do. They suggested changing a couple of printed circuit boards in the inverter which was easy but did not solve the problem. After further analysis by them over the phone they told me the inverter's mother board was "fried" and that I needed a complete new unit..... about $5000, but they were "out of stock" with a six month backlog for a replacement. That's when I called the original system installer (who happens to be the largest solar installer in AZ) to see how soon they could replace it with another brand. They told me they were so slammed with requests for complete solar systems that it would be about 9 months before they could get to a repair like mine! So upset was I that I had an expensive 12,000 watt solar system on my roof that I couldn't use, I called the two other largest installers. Never heard back from one of them and the other one was supposed to send me a quote for an inspection and never even did that! It seemed to me that the big companies were more interested in selling a complete new system than repairing an existing one. After a lot of research, I found five smaller companies who are certified for solar work. I called them all and heard back from two. One came out and gave me an extremely high quote. Another had a somewhat lower quote, but still in the $6000 range. I never heard back from the other three. Fortunately, one of the managers at my original installer felt badly about the 9 month wait and directed me to SolarFix LLC in Surprise, AZ. From the moment I spoke with Laura in the service department and Mike Craig, one of the owners of the company, I knew I was in good hands. Mike came out to inspect and test the system at no charge. He and his partner, Cameron, asked why I wasn't re-furbishing my faulty inverter. I told them I had spoken to the manufacturer several times and they never suggested that nor did I think it was possible. It was then that they called and spoke with the inverter manufacturer from my home and told me after the call that their electrician, Miguel, would remove the inverter and that I should contact the manufacturer and make arrangements to ship it back and get it refurbished. The bottom line was that I shipped it back the next day, had it repaired and returned in a little over two weeks. Miguel and Cameron came out to reinstall it and start it up the next week. The readings I have seen on it tell me it is producing energy like it was new. I recognize that I don't have a 10-year warranty that a new inverter comes with, but when I learned from the manufacturer that when one of their inverters under warranty goes bad, they often ship the homeowner a refurbished one, I felt that I was likely to get many years of good life from the refurbished inverter at one-third the cost with a replacement time that was almost immediate compared with waiting months for someone to generate a quote and install a new one. The work by SolarFix was quick, efficient and they treated me like family by directing me to a much less expensive solution. These days, it's almost impossible to find a company that acts and responds like SolarFix did for me.

Tony came to our house for a consultation, mind you, we just had some questions about an improper installation and were looking for some answers. He didn't have to do this but he did it anyway.
He is extremely knowledgeable, extremely friendly and you can tell his sincerity is real. He wasn't trying to SELL me. He was trying to EDUCATE me and gave me the information we were looking for.
If solar is what you are looking for, I would recommend Brilliant Solar Solutions above any others. You'll get what you need and I believe you'll avoid any problems you may have from other Solar companies.

We original went with a " Big" solar company BUT had nothing but problems. I called Paul at AES and we could not be happier. PAul kept us informed and walked is through the whole process. Brian was great and they finished even quicker than the 45 days from signing contract. The crew was great and kept area clean and was very respectful that the attic access was MY BEDROOM lol.
Could NOT be happier. If you want to be more than a number - go with these guys! Thanks AES for helping us go Solar!

Working with Semper Solaris was a pleasure. Dennis walked us through all our options for the system. He made everything very understandable and let us know what to expect every step of the way. The rest of the Semper Solaris team also communicated very well and kept us updated on the project. They handled all the paperwork and made the entire process very simple.Thank you Dennis and the Semper Solaris team!

UPDATE: Since my review I was contacted by Don and Nate. They worked hard to get the breakers replaced and to get the system running. Our system was turned on 10/29/18 and they have had someone come out to pressure wash the paint off the pavers and reseal them. They also contacted a company to replace the boards on the gate. Alex at Nergy has gotten approval to have our first 2 solar loan payments reimbursed and Nate gave us a gift card for our troubles. The install process went poorly but they picked it up and got it taken care of like a company should so I have raised their rating to 3 stars.

When considering a lease of solar panels I was concerned about what would happen if I needed to sell my house before the lease was up. Streamline solar also understands that this is a concern and they have specific marketing material to convince you that transferring a lease is not a potential problem. From my experience nothing could be further from the truth, and I think I was misled. The solar company streamline sold me a lease with is called SunPower. Dealing with them has been a nightmare, and even now escrow has closed on the sale of my house and I am still getting bills from SunPower and they claim they have never received the documents they need to transfer the lease to the new homeowner. It is just not true. They have everything they need, and it has been sent twice. Leasing makes good financial sense if you are sure you won't be moving. My experiences with CJ and streamline solar have been very good in terms of the quality of the product and the service they have offered, but if there is any possibility that you might need to sell your home before the lease is up I would urge you to think twice before leasing.

Cheetah's people were all courteous, friendly, helpful and patient with an old lady who had dumb questions. Although the process seemed to take forever, waiting for permits and inspections, etc., if I had any concerns, I was soon reassured. I have not had solar long enough to know of any savings, but I'm confident I will. I spoke to 3 solar companies and this one was the most informative and helpful which is why I chose them.

The company itself seems legit. It is their sales reps that do a terrible job. If only they would screen the independent sellers, then they might have a great company. Brandon Ewell of Caliber Solar LLC tried to sell a 18Kw system to me. All of a sudden there was a change order and now it was going to be a 14.94 Kw system. Brandon stated that both systems would produce exactly the same amount of energy. If that is true, then why did he try to sell the more expensive one first? I'm glad I decided not to go with him. Unfortunately for Freedom, this sales rep screwed the pooch.

UPDATE
My husband and I paid PEP Solar over $56,000 for solar panels and a pool heater. Although we were very pleased with the original customer service and the installation of all the panels and associated equipment, PEP Solar does not follow through with resolving issues. We started having production issues within the first year of operation. Instead of trying to figure out exactly what was causing the problem, PEP Solar blamed the problems on the installation of bird barriers which were installed three months after electricity production started to decline. PEP Solar began by stating that panels had probably been scratched or wires possibly perforated by the chicken wire. Within a couple months, they stated that panels were definitely scratched.... without investigating whether or not this was true. At their request, we paid to have the bird barriers removed. They stated they would come out to investigate if we removed the barriers. It was yet another false claim. They would not come out unless we gave them $3700 and agreed to pay up to $15,000 to fix the problems. We ended up hiring another company that charged only $350 to get the system running perfectly. AND there were no scratched panels and no perforated wiring. Come on PEP Solar, where is your integrity? Making false claims and false promises is no way to run a business.

The installers are excellent and very responsive. Get their phone number directly when they are working on your system and bypass their main line as those folks are not much help at all - except to collect your payment.

Research well. We love our solar. That being said, we also bought a house fan and two garage fans. When the install of the fan was done somehow the tech had a 2x4 fall through our closet sealing not just one hole two. Pur solar sent a guy out to patch the holes and then today a painter. Did I mention this happened in August. We had to clean up all the installation amounting to 50 lb trash bag full. Had to throw out clothes away that just would not come clean. We asked for a discount and they gave us $100 off of all we paid them. I asked if they could give us $200-$500 discount and was denied.

The system was installed, after long delays on May 2021. It stopped generating power by the end of July. Requests for information from the company have been ignored. They and their subcontractors simply do not communicate at all with customers. I've called several times and received promises of callbacks with followup information, but have yet to receive any. APS bills are through the roof and Sunrun is continuing to bill although the system is producing no electricity. The best outcome would be to have them remove their non-functioning installation from my house, repair the roof, and refund payments for the months when no power was generated. The frustration of dealing with this company is literally making us sick. I am sufficiently frustrated that I am filing a consumer complaint with the Arizona Attorney General's office. Appalling business ethics as well as non-existent customer service.
