Ralph Barone is the best!!! He is extremely nice and easy to deal with. He calls you back when he says he will. He is prompt; he told us between 9 and 10 and arrived 9:30 on the dot.

He clearly knows what he is doing and works quickly and efficiently -- he will answer any questions but also doesn't waste time (since he was charging us hourly, this was especially appreciated.) He's also very thorough. When the water came back on, there was a small & temporary issue in the apartment upstairs and Ralph immediately went to check on it.

His rates are extremely reasonable (I called around, so I can REALLY vouch for this) and he has a license and insurance so your co-op board will be happy too.  I hope to not need a plumber again too soon, but will call him first whenever I do need one.

Very positive recent experience with Manny and Manhattan Sewer Drain. I had an emergency plumbing situation very early in the morning. Manny took my call and was able to come onsite in a very short amount of time to resolve my issue. He was very friendly, professional and competent. I would use this service again in the future and would also recommend it to others.

Juan got back to me within minutes. He's very professional, personable and punctual with his time. Most of all, he's a honest plumber. He managed to put me on his schedule in less than 12 hours. My wife and I came acrosss Plumber New York a friends reccomendation and we were very glad. They answered the call immmediately and gave us a terrific estimate for our budget and agreed to do doing the work immediately. They were necer intrusive in our home nor were they tardy in getting the job done and cleaning up as if they weren't there at all! There was never a time when our call wasn't answered to swiftly if not immediately. As an added bonus we needed new fixtures and John helped us find the best (and tasteful, fashionable desiegn) kind and stay within our budget. We won't hesitate to call Plumber NYC again.

Pete was scheduled to come address a leak in my house. The leak got much worse before my appointment & Pete came over on a SUNDAY and fixed the problem within an hour. He was courteous, neat & his rate was more than reasonable. He also answered several plumbing questions I had that were unrelated to his visit. Overall, just a nice guy and an excellent plumber. Our water heater went off Friday night, I re lit it Saturday and went surfing expecting a hot shower on my return.  Unfortunately it had gone out again so no hot shower.  

I hit yelp and looked up local business and went through 4 companies who either didn't answer or couldn't come out until days later.  I got to Rishon who are a little further out but had great reviews.  What a pleasant experience, a few questions, an exchange of address via txt and they promised to be here in 30 mins.  

George and John showed up on time, carefully put booties over their shes and quickly sorted the problem out.  To come out within 30 mins on a Saturday, I would say the price was reasonable.  I am bookmarking these guys for any future plumbing needs.

I can't begin to describe how wonderful everyone in the company is.  I hired them to fix a sump pump pit and add a pipe from the sump pump to an existing drain.  After they finished the job and were testing the new setup, we found water was coming in my apartment.  They stayed an extra 3 hours troubleshooting where the water was coming from, including breaking through walls when needed.  It ended up being an outdoor faucet pipe that had cracked in the wall and was ruing things.  They were there for a total of 7 1/2 hours and never complained.  I offered for them to come back another day to fix the new issue, but they kept saying that they didn't want to leave me with issues.  I've had plumbers in the past not want to take the time to break through a wall and find the issues, who didn't test things thoroughly and leave while there were still issues.  These guys were a breath of fresh air.

So here is my understanding of the plumber's response: They DID give me three options: install sink in basement, install sink and lavatory, install sink, lavatory and toilet. But you can see that these are just the prices for the three items I needed installed.
I do appreciate that they have experienced plumbers that should get the job done efficiently. However, that should result in greater productivity, not higher prices.
But I will ask them for a bid on my next project. The owner called me and seemed like a very nice guy.

Professional and punctual, but overpriced. Replacing 2 seats and 2 washers on a shower-body, $225 (job done in 30 mins).

Edited 02/22/2013 - Another example of their expensive fees: electrically clearing some draining stoppage: $375. If you're not in an emergency I would definitely suggest to shop around.

Run away fast. Worst customer service, expensive and did a poor job in my apartment . Wont be using them anymore. Better off calling someone else
