Best Electricians in New York, NY

So, about two weeks ago I found a leak in my kitchen, and as a result, had to get several panels of hardwood floor removed to expose the subfloor and let it dry out. The roaches were not on board with this plan and decided that if their home was gonna be destroyed, they'd move in with me. After a week of chasing them around with can of Raid, I decided to purchase some professional grade stuff that I can spray directly into the crevices of the exposed subfloor. I'm scheduled to get new flooring put down tomorrow so today was my last chance to contain the problem.

A minute or so into admiring the precision with with which I was able to apply this life saving (or life ending if you're a bug) solution of insecticide, a huge spark launches out of from somewhere on the floor -- nearly giving me a heart attack -- and I see the green light of the outlet I'm standing next to go dim. I check my circuit breaker panel and did not notice any circuits that had flicked off. I tried turning some of them on/off anyway, but to no avail. I frantically signup for Angie's list, and begin calling every licensed electrician in my area hoping that someone is able to come in today since tomorrow at 8:30am: new floor. It was a BIG spark, and I can't enjoy my floor if I die in a fire (or the guys who are installing it do).

As I made my way down the list of highly rated electricians provided to me by Angie's List, I eventually end up calling Solomon and explained the situation to him. I was immediately grateful that he understood what had happened wasn't an emergency per se, but it was an emergency to me -- I WANT MY FLOOR BACK. He asks me to text him as many pictures as possible so he can assess the situation. I do, and less than 5 minutes later, he calls me back, and dare I say sounds happy.

Apparently what happened to me is relatively common as the wiring for GTCI outlets (the ones that have reset & test buttons) is very sensitive and didn't appreciate me spraying aerosol insecticide in its vicinity. Solomon instructed me to take another look at my circuit breaker panel. Turns out that I had reset the incorrect breaker (stupid illegible labels), and there actually was one that was not in the off position, but wasn't exactly in the on position either. I flipped it back on and problem solved.

Considering that I was ready to shell out a chunk of cash (that I don't have) to get someone to my apartment ASAP, and also knowing that the chances of even getting that to happen were slim, to say that I am thankful is an understatement, hence this review. So, no, Solomon did not actually physically fix my problem, instead he assessed, diagnosed, and fixed the problem all remotely, and for free at that. Although I never hope to again be in the market for an electrician, at least I know who to call if I ever get another I almost started an electrical fire heart attack.

I had a great experience working with Jason and Stephen. They were both very thorough prior to even scheduling a date to perform the work. They carefully explained each product they were installing. And to help save me time and money, asked to see pictures of the area and went over a lot of the details beforehand.

They arrived promptly at the scheduled time. While at the house, they worked efficiently and cleaned up after each part of the work was completed. I would gladly work with them again on future projects around the house.

I had a great experience with Malfettone Electric. I found them on yelp. Jason was so easy to work with and he was professional and very knowledgeable. I had recessed lighting installed in my condo. When we discovered that I bought the wrong lights on the morning they were going to install, he came with me to Home Depot to find the right ones!

He came to give me an estimate right away and spent a good 40 min here looking at the space giving me ideas. Pricing is very fair. He had 4 guys in his crew and they were amazingly efficient and clean. They were very professional and when they left, you couldn't tell they were there all day!

I went with Jason because I liked his professionalism and quick response to my request for an estimate. He was always responsive to my questions during the lead up to the install day. I called 2 other electricians-one didn't even want to come and see my place and the other one....I'm still waiting for his estimate.

I had an excellent experience with Omeshwar.  He was very professional and did a great job installing a number of dimmers throughout my house.  There were a couple complicated issues that arose during the install, and Omeshwar handled them like a pro.  He was also a pleasure to work with, was great at communicating, and was reasonably priced.  Will definitely be going back to him in the future!

We called No Shorts to come upgrade our electrical panel and they did a great job! We originally expected to have our electricity off for about 8 hours, but it only ended up being about 5 hours. They were professional and clean and did a great job!

On time. Called prior to arrival. His techs Diagnosed problem in bathroom and swapped out faulty switch in 20 minutes. Billing done via email, no money changed hands. I'm assuming that will go smoothly. $150 to walk in the door. Expensive switch. Should have become a plumber.
Update. Payment was sent to my email with a $30 discount due to the easy fix. Excellent

I'm A disabled salon owner. I would NOT be in business right now if it weren't for Sergi. he has installed my retail wall shelving, every single piece of art I own, and he customizes all of my furniture so they sit at 20 inches for my disability needs. he is precise, he's punctual.

I'm also a large fat transgender human, and I feel safe around Sergi.

We called this company based on Yelp reviews in a pinch when the old chandelier in our new house caught fire at 7:30 pm on a weekday. No kidding. We looked at 24-hour electricians with five-star reviews and Fuentes was one of them. I called, Jamie answered, I told him the issue and that I wanted the chandelier removed tonight and to go to sleep knowing there wasn't a wiring issue I needed to worry about overnight. He gave me a reasonable price to come over and diagnose the problem and said it would cost a bit more to install a new light and dimmer (once he got here and he figured out what the problem was). He was prompt, knowledgeable, friendly, and informative. We will definitely call again! Highly recommended.

Alex was the only one able/willing to come same day (Sunday).  He diagnosed and fixed our washing machine very quickly.  Very happy with the service, would call him again for any future appliance repairs.

Tommy, one of the owner's sons is a great electrician and all around nice guy.  For someone like me who is both not handy and scared of electricity, he took the time to explain to me why something wouldn't work but found amazing solutions to get what I wanted.  Great kid from clearly a great family run business.  Highly recommend them.

I spent a while trying to track down an electrician who actually had a phone and would actually call back. It's not easy! Then I found Gambi on yelp. They picked up the phone, scheduled an appointment, showed up and did the work. Eugene was my guy and he was terrific, he explained everything, gave me choices about how to handle issues and was clear about costs. Btw 175 for coming to the house and 100 each hour after that. Totally worth it for the work they did.

Hired rob to rewire my attic had some damage before from a short that went wrong, he was fair with the price and quality workmanship.

Ciro was super responsive to my initial inquiry to replace a wired doorbell and chime box and scheduled a mutually convenient time right away. He brought both a wired and wireless option so he could get the job done regardless of wiring conditions. He was efficient, organized, pleasant to speak with, and fairly priced. I'll definitely call him again for other home maintenance projects.

We called Ceriello to replace two burnt-out outlets in our kitchen. They sent someone the same day, and the guy they sent, Nick, was friendly, knowledgable, and had the job done quickly and efficiently. I can't recommend Ceriello highly enough! We'll definitely use them again!

Avoid at all costs.  I asked the guy (Jeff Brausewetter) to install a 220v outlet for a new dryer and he said he needed to put in a new breaker box.  I paid for it, and he came and installed it; he told me he was almost done but just needed to get the part for the outlet.  Then he stopped answering the phone or replying to my texts.  Finally he replied saying that he had been locked out of his phone and would sort me out, but after that he became unresponsive at the new number too.  Finally I had another electrician out (Riviera Electric, recommended).  He explained that (i) Jeff's breaker box was completely useless, and (ii) he hadn't actually done anything except for screwing the box onto the wall - no wiring or anything.  So, I'm out over $300 with nothing to show for it except for a useless breaker box that I'm going to have to throw away.  BEWARE!
