Best Electricians in New York, NY

So, about two weeks ago I found a leak in my kitchen, and as a result, had to get several panels of hardwood floor removed to expose the subfloor and let it dry out. The roaches were not on board with this plan and decided that if their home was gonna be destroyed, they'd move in with me. After a week of chasing them around with can of Raid, I decided to purchase some professional grade stuff that I can spray directly into the crevices of the exposed subfloor. I'm scheduled to get new flooring put down tomorrow so today was my last chance to contain the problem.

A minute or so into admiring the precision with with which I was able to apply this life saving (or life ending if you're a bug) solution of insecticide, a huge spark launches out of from somewhere on the floor -- nearly giving me a heart attack -- and I see the green light of the outlet I'm standing next to go dim. I check my circuit breaker panel and did not notice any circuits that had flicked off. I tried turning some of them on/off anyway, but to no avail. I frantically signup for Angie's list, and begin calling every licensed electrician in my area hoping that someone is able to come in today since tomorrow at 8:30am: new floor. It was a BIG spark, and I can't enjoy my floor if I die in a fire (or the guys who are installing it do).

As I made my way down the list of highly rated electricians provided to me by Angie's List, I eventually end up calling Solomon and explained the situation to him. I was immediately grateful that he understood what had happened wasn't an emergency per se, but it was an emergency to me -- I WANT MY FLOOR BACK. He asks me to text him as many pictures as possible so he can assess the situation. I do, and less than 5 minutes later, he calls me back, and dare I say sounds happy.

Apparently what happened to me is relatively common as the wiring for GTCI outlets (the ones that have reset & test buttons) is very sensitive and didn't appreciate me spraying aerosol insecticide in its vicinity. Solomon instructed me to take another look at my circuit breaker panel. Turns out that I had reset the incorrect breaker (stupid illegible labels), and there actually was one that was not in the off position, but wasn't exactly in the on position either. I flipped it back on and problem solved.

Considering that I was ready to shell out a chunk of cash (that I don't have) to get someone to my apartment ASAP, and also knowing that the chances of even getting that to happen were slim, to say that I am thankful is an understatement, hence this review. So, no, Solomon did not actually physically fix my problem, instead he assessed, diagnosed, and fixed the problem all remotely, and for free at that. Although I never hope to again be in the market for an electrician, at least I know who to call if I ever get another I almost started an electrical fire heart attack.

Jason and Stephen are excellent. When my husband and I were under contract to purchase a home, they came out and gave us a quote on the service. The prices were reasonable and they were incredibly honest from the start with what I should be concerned about or not concerned about which really put this first-time homeowner's fears at rest. When our closing date got pushed back another month due to delays in the seller's oil tank test return, Jason and Stephen were understanding.
After we finally closed, they came out, did the work as promised, and even saved me a few $ with finding other solutions. Even the chandelier they hung, Jason made sure to get it to face a direction where I was happy with it.

The work was done on Friday and Jason was still great enough to try and push pseg to come out to service an old exterior wire (pseg's fix not ours), AFTER he services our house. The extra time he took to try and help says a lot about this company. They really do care about their clients without trying to upsell every 5 minutes.

The town electrical inspector came today and he said that he used to be an electrical contractor too. He was impressed with Jason and Stephen's work. He said the work they did was beautiful and very neat and that they did a great job. This is the kind of work I used to do when I was a contractor. Not everyone does it as good as this. That's pretty awesome to hear. So glad we hired them. Honest, friendly, professional, and appreciative of our business with them.

Excellent job installing recessed lighting in my home office.  Clean, fast, reasonably priced.  

I called multiple contractors to take this relatively small job and he (and one other who no-showed the estimate) were the only ones willing to take the time to give an estimate and commit to getting the work done.  Would definitely hire again.

I had an excellent experience with Omeshwar.  He was very professional and did a great job installing a number of dimmers throughout my house.  There were a couple complicated issues that arose during the install, and Omeshwar handled them like a pro.  He was also a pleasure to work with, was great at communicating, and was reasonably priced.  Will definitely be going back to him in the future!

My husband and I needed an electrician to provide an electrical upgrade quote during our final walkthrough. We did an internet search and really liked the reviews left for No Shorts Electric. I made an appointment with Mike over the phone and he was able to meet us early in the morning. During his inspection he provided us with a detailed plan on what was needed and what could be done with our home and garage. After receiving the estimate we proceeded to setup a date to have the work done. I was worried that it would take a few days, but Mike brought a whole team to knock the job out within a day. We are very satisfied with the work of his team and would recommend them to anyone in need of an electrician.

I highly recommend Serge to anyone looking for his services! I needed my TV mounted, and he not only responded right away, but made the process seamless for me. I messaged him on a Saturday and had my installation on Tuesday.
After he mounted the TV and left, I realized I actually wanted it to be lower. I messaged Serge and he came back right away! He re-mounted the TV to my satisfaction and I'm left with a great viewing experience.
He also gave me some tips for shelving and lighting that I could install, so I may be giving him a call in the future!

Jaime did a great job installing our ceiling fans.  He was very responsive from the first call, coming over same-day to assess the job.  Weekend hours and quick to respond, worked with us to find a reasonable price.

Alex was the only one able/willing to come same day (Sunday).  He diagnosed and fixed our washing machine very quickly.  Very happy with the service, would call him again for any future appliance repairs.

Excellent experience with York Electric. Just had them run an electric stove hookup and move my breaker box. Dennis and his team were on time, very professional, and completed the job in a timely manner. They even left the work area far cleaner than when they found it. I know from experience that selecting the right contractor/electrician can be difficult but I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and would absolutely recommend.

I called Mr. Tapia yesterday and we set up an appointment for today to fix an outlet at my uncle's apartment. He and his associate Rashid came in just at the agreed time. They fixed the particular outlet plus thightened a couple more that were loose; they also installed a couple of light bulbs which I was afraid to do because the ceilings are very high. I asked Mr. Tapia to check my aunt's apartment next door since she also had a problem with the ceiling light. Not only they fixed it but he also went to Lowe's and bought a new lamp to replace the old one completely since the wires were pretty burnt. The lamp was only $15 and he kept the cost within the original estimate of one hour althought the entire process took longer than that. I was very pleased with the experience and will certainly call them again if I have any future electric problems. They were both very pleasant and profesional. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for  honest and responsable electricians.

Rob Ferrito owns the company. Extremely professional in a world where contractors are no longer professional. He'll come at the agreed time, finish on the agreed finish date, and clean up behind him. He is a Professional Electrician. I could not recommend another electrician more highly. However, the service and reputation will cost you. His employees are as professional as he. You want an cheap price, call another electrician. You want an excellent job, call him.

Ciro was super responsive to my initial inquiry to replace a wired doorbell and chime box and scheduled a mutually convenient time right away. He brought both a wired and wireless option so he could get the job done regardless of wiring conditions. He was efficient, organized, pleasant to speak with, and fairly priced. I'll definitely call him again for other home maintenance projects.

Very happy with this company. I had a partial power outage in my house. I called in the morning and the technician, Rocco, was there by 3:30 pm. He was courteous and very professional.

It took him about 5 minutes to diagnose the problem and another 20 to replace the faulty breaker.  

I would call this company again without hesitation.

Jeff diagnosed the problems, and acquired and installec the replacement parts needed.
