Best Electricians in New York

I have used Paul Gennaro and his team from Forest Hills Electric for many jobs, both big and small over the years. They always did great quality work at a price which was high, but fair. It appears that Paul has sold the business and moved on. When I recently had them do a couple of non-emergency jobs at my house, I found the new owner was just as polite and prompt as ever. However, the comprehension of the job was not as good as before, and the price charged was more exorbitant than fair. Finally, I found the finish on one of the jobs to be quite unprofessional, and a subsequent attempt to resolve it with the owner was less than satisfying. I'll keep using them in the future but will make sure pricing and expectations are clearly set out before the job is begun.

I first dealt with A-1 Electric many years ago, when a monster snowstorm knocked down tree branches that, in turn, ripped the power feed off the side of our house.  Fortunately, the phone worked--so I called our friends in New Providence who had said good things about their electrician.  They referred us to A-1.  I called them Saturday afternoon while the snow was still coming down.

They called me back Saturday night.  Sunday morning, in 18 inches of snow, they came and spent most of the day reattaching our feed wires.  Among other things, this involved making new conduit, removing and replacing the electric meter, reattaching the wires at the roof, and so on--all outdoors in the dead of winter.  Because of that, we were able to get our power back on Monday.

Since then we've gone to them twice, both times for small, tricky jobs involving switches, one of which included snaking wires into a wall from the attic.  That time they didn't have switches in the right color, so they installed switches in a slightly different color, then came back and swapped them for the right ones at no extra charge when the right ones came in.

The third time they gave me an estimate in the form of a price range.  The actual invoice was much closer to the bottom of the range than it was to the top.

In all cases they came when they said they would, did what they said they would, completely cleaned up after themselves, are conducted themselves like professionals in every respect.  Definitely worth recommending without hesitation.

Professional, dependable, neat and thorough.  They arrived on time and went over the entire job with us to make sure we were all on the same page.  Every member of the crew was polite and considerate (drop cloths in hand right off the bat).  They did a great job and cleaned up completely. Highly recommend!!

We had a bad contractor and a worse electrician that completely messed up the electric throughout our house. Half of it wasn't working and the safety of the other half was questionable.

Sal came in, took a look at everything we had going on and was a pleasure to work with. He was able to quickly supply temporary power to the parts missing it and address the safety issues. Over the next few weeks, the rest of the house was rewired from top to bottom.They were also able to minimize the holes they needed to put into the walls which was really awesome.

Sal was amazing to work with and I can't recommend him enough.

Danube Electric did a fantastic job on my apartment. They are licensed in Electrician, Heating, and Cooling. They interviewed many other electricians, and chose them because they were reasonably priced and very reliable. I will most definitely use them again. Keep up the good work!

Al was very helpful, efficient, and professional. He wore a mask and was generally courteous. He was able to hang items (interior and exterior) and fix odds and ends beyond expectations. I highly recommend him for your handyman needs. Pricing was fair. Hire him!

I lost power to my entire condo and it was right before a huge snow storm. Angelo came an hour after I called and was great! He had everything fixed quickly and was very nice, will definitely call him again.

We recently bought a new house and wanted to make some electrical upgrades throughout so we did some research online and found Wes Electric. After receiving our estimate we decided to use Wes. Some work included recessed lights,  ceiling fans, 200 amp service upgrade, and replacing all of our outlets.  The work came out perfect we were surprised how much adding some lighting could make such a difference in our home. The guys who did the work were neat and professional and always made sure to clean up at the end of the day. We would recommend Wes to anyone looking for a reliable electrician.

Joe and his wife were really wonderful to work with.  Efficient and conscientious.  It was super easy scheduling a free estimate and for the work to be done with his wife handling all the appointments.  

We had three outlets created on the outside of the house and garage, but after doing a walk through Joe spotted a couple other issues that we were unaware of.  

Price wise he's a bit pricier than other folks, but it's worth the peace of mind knowing that the work will be guaranteed done correctly and safely.

What an amazing company and owner. We had a power surge and mike walked through all possible scenarios with us before sending his crew. I have never experienced with such professional and courteous  service from electrical contractors. They identified the problem immediately. And I was impressed with their concern for our well being. I strongly recommend this company.

HORRIBLE!!!! Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.They are always late and very unprofessional. I question weather the guy that was here even has a plumbers license. He had no tool box, no rags, nothing to clean up with. He left black stuff all over our tub, toilet, sink and floor in the bathroom. It took us over an hour of scrubbing to clean it all. I confronted him about it he said, I don't clean!! I said the bathroom was clean when you got here it should be clean when you leave. Nothing but a bunch of unprofessional pigs. The repair work was very shoddy.

I would not hire these guys again.  They quoted me a days work to install lights and sensors in my closets - an easy job, or so I thought.  The job ended up taking four days because the techs were unprofessional and unsupervised.  I had to spend a bunch of time on the phone chasing them down.  Every time the techs came they left a big mess and/or a unfixed problem.  They installed faulty sensors without checking them.  It was quite a mess of a job.

I had what turned out to be a small but difficult electrical problem, that most electricians  considered to be to small and messy and not worth the effort. I called every electrician in the nabohurghood most of them didn't  return any of my calls.
Mr Paskor returned  my call the same day. It took a few back and forth phone calls and about 2 weeks before we could work out a schedule  to get the work done. The job took 3 hours. I was very happy with the work and the price was excellent.
I have a few more electrical projects and would be more than happy to hire Mr. Paskor to do the work.

I called these men once when I had an outlet that was spewing sparks.  They came the same day and charged me $72 to check it out.  Is this a reasonable price?  I don't know, but at least I had the comfort of knowing it was checked by a licensed electrician.
