Best General Contractors in United States

We needed a partial  bath remodel and went to the home show looking for help.  We found three companies and seriously compared them.   Colton came to our home to assess the job and prepare a quote.  He wrote up a quote that was higher than the others, but we decided to go with them because the product they offered through their show room was nicer in quality than the others.  

This company does not employ in-house construction workers.  They sub-contract all the work.  That explains the higher cost.  However, we were very happy with the work.  Colton was our salesman, Jaram coordinated the construction workers.  He gave us a timetable that worked for us and we were happy with the way the timing worked out.  
We needed the garden bathtub removed, a glass brick window reduced in size by half and a walk-in shower built to replace the tub.  

The contractors who came to our home were very professional and efficient.  We were most impressed with Johnny, who did the tile work. There were 2 mistakes: first, in how the tile was drilled for the plumbing; second it became apparent that the dye in the tiles was not consistent within the box of tile.  This showed up after the light in the room changed and tile was set. There were 5 tiles that didn't match the others.  Johnny came right out and fixed the problem.  Luckily we had extra tiles for him to work with and he was able to save us from having to buy another box of tile.  

When you are not well-versed with the construction business in our area, it is virtually impossible to find people to contract to do work.  When the job involved requires different specialties such as construction, plumbing, and tiling it is risky for the homeowner to hire one contractor to do all the jobs.  Without word-of-mouth recommendations, I became overwhelmed with my search.  It was expensive to hire Rise Above for our job, but we are happy with the results and I am thankful they supplied us with high quality workmen who did a great job!

We had a flood at our rental. The complete destruction of our dining room happened. Red Eye Construction came in and did a beautiful job with the put back and with quality materials, and in a very timely manner. They worked so well with our tenant who is having a very rough time in his personal life right now. I highly recommend this company you will not regret this choice in hiring Red Eye Construction to do any remodeling you may need.

Have known the owner for a while, but this was the first time I've actually used his business for handyman services.  The project was a dishwasher installation (remove old, install new).  It was completed without a hitch!  Eddie was on time, did an excellent job, verified everything was OK, and cleaned up afterward.

Please do not hesitate to use this company!

Excellent work. Now have a beautiful master bath. The whole company is very easy to work with and clean up each day. Kristina has great ideas and really picks up what colors and styles you like. Would highly recommend.

I've had a lot of problems hiring shady contractors from Angie's List who do terrible work and randomly take off for meth adventures....

RR sent nice, knowledgeable and trustworthy people to quote and to do a great job removing a 30 y/o wooden patio that was attached to my roof. Would definitely hire them again!

Hands down, Q is one of the best out there - he's honest, hardworking, knowledgeable and very trustworthy. I referred him to my family members as well. Easy to communicate with and no project is too big or too small from electric, plumbing to installing tvs, I would highly recommend him to everyone.

I needed a new contractor to do some renovations on our new home so we turned to Yelp and and found shepherd contracting. We used Thomas and his team when my new home needed some updating. The communication was above and beyond. We love our new bathrooms and will post updated photos soon!

I needed a repair for a door that wouldn't close or lock. I received a quick initial response, and the repair was completed within 24 hrs. The technician, Kaelen, was courteous and professional, and the charge was reasonable. I was very pleased with the service.

Joe came out quickly and made us a priority. He met our budget and timeline. Was a great communicator and has good resources. Would recommend for your next home renovation.

We had to terminate the Good Guys and hire another contractor because of their Substandard work and for charged services not performed. We were overcharged $3,231 for work not performed. We had the following issues:
* Our new contractors had to re-paint rooms and garage;
* We were charged for plumbing parts we never received;
* We were charged for disconnection and installation of plumbing parts never disconnected  or installed;
* We requested in writing, detailed invoices which were never provided;
* They left messes inside the house, and left oil on the driveway;
* We therefore had to move in two months late which we then had $3,172 in carrying costs for our other house.

We withheld $500 for the plumbing issues, and emailed them with the explanation. Our new contractors can substantiate all of the problems upon request.

In summary, DO NOT hire the Good Guys unless you like substandard work, and being charged for parts and work never received or performed.

Two ladies came out to look at the kitchen. I followed up with them with text several times but never got an estimate. Not sure why. If they don't want the business, at least have a courtesy to send a note, instead of completely ignoring to even reply. Will not recommend.

2nd Ave Design built our kitchen and I would highly recommend them for yours. Not every contractor has what Michael Roberts can offer. He has excellent interior design skills to go along with years of experience, knowledgeable tradesmen and willingness to work with you on getting the environment you want. Give them a call if you want to see more about what they can offer.

I am very satisfied with Kyle of I'm gonna Fix it. I used his service once 2 years ago and kept his number because I was satisfied with his work. He just installed our entry wall light and again, am happy with his work. If you need quality work and a fair price, call Kyle.

Doug's awesome! As an out of state property owner, it's often difficult to find and trust people to complete home repairs. We contacted Doug and he showed up (huge props for that in itself!), assessed the issue with the garbage disposal and had it fixed in no time. Thank you Doug! Peace of mind is invaluable.

Erika did an amazing job planning out and executing on our kitchen remodel. Unlike most contractors I've worked with she underpromises and over delivers. She's honest and thorough. I couldn't be happier with the work her crew has done and her consistent and direct communication.
