Warren provides a great service at a fair price. I had another quote from an electrician that told me I needed new parts and 100s of dollars of labor. Warren came and was able to diagnose and fix the problem within seconds and took the time to explain what was wrong and how to fix myself if it happens again.  It's great to have found an electrician that comes when he says he will come and doesn't over charge and great guy!  Thanks Warren!

The skinny:  Greg from Powerplus is an absolute professional.  If you're looking for an electrician who does quality work, is exceptionally thorough, and charges reasonable rates, look no further.  

Here's my long-winded story:

With the power outages we've had in my area the past couple of years I wanted to make sure this year I was ready for future emergencies. Standby generators and other such solutions were way out of my budget so I opted to go with the portable generator + Interlock solution (as opposed to manual transfer switches, etc.).  

I found a couple of electricians via word of mouth and from local online forums  and got some estimates.  I heard roughly the same details from each of the 3 electricians I talked to:

- This would be a straight forward job, estimates roughly the same
- The only gotcha is that my town is extremely anal about inspections (2 of the 3 who have done work in my town said this, including Greg.  The 3rd usually does work outside my town, but said my job should be no problem, based on permit work he's done elsewhere in NJ).

What set Greg apart were the following:
- Very responsive. You can tell he's busy, but he's never too busy to answer your call or answer your e-mail.  I had a lot of questions along the way and I was always appreciative of how patient Greg was throughout the process.  
- Foresaw Potential Issues - Though the general sentiment was that my job would not have any issues with the town, Greg did notice that my existing panel was overloaded (due to tandem breakers).  He remarked that usually town inspectors don't make you redo existing work as they inspect the new scope of work.  However, he was the only one of the 3 that made the effort to contact my town's inspector to check.  And lo and behold, my town, true to their reputation responded that they would fail the new work (for the interlock) because of my existing overloaded panel.  Greg came up with alternatives and continued to think through what the potential pitfalls were.  If I had gone with anyone else, they would have done the work, failed inspection, and then we would have been at the point to consider alternatives.  Greg was the only one that helped me figure out the issues ahead of time.  I'm a no surprises kind of guy, so that was very important to me.  
- Leveraged Technology - One of the other things that distinguished Greg from others was he was the only one with a Facebook page (facebook.com/powerplusel…)  All very clean cut and nice.  He also was the only electrician I contacted willing to scope out the work based on pictures.  Part of that is that he's about an hour away from me so it wasn't the most convenient for him to come out to my place.  But, I mean, it is 2014, you'd think more contractors would be able to use technology to their advantage and save everybody (both themselves and the homeowner) time.  To be clear, Greg did come in person to finalize some things and confirm what he saw in the pics I sent him, but it just makes a whole lot more sense to me for an initial estimate to be done via pictures.  I wish more contractors would do that.  
- Saw the Job Through (start to finish) - I never had to bug Greg on status or what was going on.  He was usually the one to ping me and keep me up to speed on what was going on.  That's a breath of fresh air compared to all of the other contractors I've ever dealt with.  

So what happened:
- Greg did an awesome job, the subpanel looked great, all the wiring was clean cut.  He took the time to explain everything as we tested the setup (generator, interlock).    I was happy.
- We went to inspection, and my town failed it due to some their interpretation of working clearance.   Note this had NOTHING to do with Greg's work and I am convinced that my town is just difficult to work with (this was confirmed later, by the way, as I spoke to more people)  
- We were stuck between a rock and a hard place at this point.  But credit Greg.  Long story short, he helped me persevere and we found a solution to all of it.  Honestly, as I've stated above, I think my town is the exception and inspectors elsewhere would not have failed my job.  I would never advise anyone to do electrical work without a permit, but in my case it was an extreme hassle.  
- It's hard to say what would have happened if I had chosen someone else.  But I do think any lesser electrician would have bailed on me as this literally took months to sort out.  

Bottom line:  Greg is hard-working, honest, and does quality work.  That combination of qualities rare these days.  To be completely honest, given the experience it took to get a permit in my town, I'm hesitant to ever do any electrical work in my home again.  But, if I do, I will definitely go with Greg.

I called to set up an appointment and the young lady that answered was very courteous and knowledgeable about the problems I was having in my home. I think her name is Jennifer. We set the appointment and Tony showed up exactly to the minute of the scheduled time. He completed the work under the time he had quoted me. He was very neat and cleaned up as he worked the small jobs that I needed done. He was very understanding of what I needed done. Will installed a NEMA 14-50 outlet for me to charge my tesla, had to rework the panel.
The next day, I found out some other lights had no power. Texted Will. He's back the next day and got it fixed for me. I already paid him with cash. I have had few experiences that contractors didn't come back or return call after they got their money. But Will came back for me. Will responded very fast to calls and texts as well.

This is our second time using Primo for tv installation. Setting an appointment was easy & everyone on the team was pleasant & professional.

The first time was uneventful & the tvs were installed as requested. This time, I had them uninstall a tv from one apartment we were moving out of & move it to another apartment. We also had them mount a tv that we had already transported to the new apartment.

In a nutshell, they broke the tv they uninstalled during transport. There was no issue with the installation of the tv we already had in the apartment. I'm giving them 5 stars because what happened afterwards is an example of great customer service. They stayed in constant communication with me & provided a replacement tv to us with 48 hours. We would have received the replacement even sooner (within 24 hours) but I wasn't available for them to stop by. The replacement tv is an upgrade from the tv we had & there was no hassle at all with getting it installed in a timely fashion.

They broke it & then made it right quickly. Everyone we came across was apologetic & willing to do whatever necessary to make us happy with the experience. The tvs were installed, wires managed & they cleaned up after themselves. We had a hiccup but I'm not unreasonable. I understand that stuff happens. I just really appreciate the stellar customer service! I highly recommend Primo & would use them again for my tv installation needs.

We had an outdoor plug that didn't seem to be working so we called and they came out shortly after to take a look. It turned out that the plug was fine and he was kind and not at all annoyed that he had come by for nothing. Gave him a tip for his time, happy with the speedy same day service.

I recently bought a home and it needed a lot of updating.  I called plaza and working with them has been INCREDIBLE! Courteous, quick, professional, on time and the list goes on!  They worked with me and my crazy schedule and the work they do is hands down the best!  I would recommend Plaza to everyone (if you want it done right!)

My AC stopped working recently on a very hot day. My AC repairman said it was an electrical issue and I needed to have an electrician diagnose the issue. Reached out to Evan @ Keller Electric and he made the time to come to my house the same day because he did not want us to go without AC when it was so hot. Within minutes of arriving, Evan diagnosed the issue and got the AC working again. The issue was my electric panel needed replacement due to age and melted wires/breakers. Evan came back in a few days with everything he needed to replace the panel. Pricing was very fair and the service was awesome.  I highly recommend Evan and Keller Electric.

I've used Grounded Electric multiple times, and they're always quick to come to address concerns. I've had the same guys come to my house, and they're fabulous, respectful, knowledgeable and professional. Barrett, Bobby, Willy and Kevin are so kind and efficient. Even though I'm only calling because something is wrong, it's a pleasure to see them, and their rates are reasonable. Most importantly, they are down to earth and kind! It's really hard to find electricians, plumbers, etc who smile and are polite. Don't look anywhere else for an electrician because no one can beat the guys from Grounded!

John is cool.  He came and assessed my ceiling fan.  Guess it was not that big of a problem, because he didn't charge me.  He just put a couple of screws in and that was it.  He did suggest we get a new fan.  Old one.  I tried to fix a wobble in the fan, but he said it was normal.  That darn thing almost dropped from my ceiling when I tried unscrewing it.  Darn youtube gave me the wrong advice.  Next time just hire a professional.  John is an honest guy.  I will call him again if I have any future projects.

Frank and his crew are excellent electricians. High standard quality job, very professional and at the same time friendly and listening to client requests and questions. They are fair and honest: if something is not needed Frank will tell you.

I got an intercom through another company and I assume it wasn't set up right or whatever. After receiving no replies from the original provider of my intercom I decided it would just be easiest to call another company altogether

I called speakeasy when my buzzer wasn't working, and they were able to get to me same day and fixed my issue. No problems ever since! Very friendly staff as well.
