It's Saturday, and it's Memorial Day weekend. A guest accidentally zaps my electricity while running a hair dryer. Circuit breakers look fine, but flipping them on and off doesn't solve the problem.
Who do you call? Actually, anybody that'll answer. I called other highly rated Yelp-recommended companies, but they all bailed and weren't around for the weekend. I called up Kevin, it was already almost 5pm, and he answered and said he can come right over.
He diagnosed the problem methodically and within a half hour had everything back up and running again. He was courteous, pleasant, and very knowledgable (I think he's been doing this since 1976). Highly recommended when you need someone who knows his stuff in a pinch.

Hank provided a variety of services today and I am so impressed with his work. Hank installed a ceiling fan in my daughters room where there were no connections/wires to install the new ceiling fan to. Hank was very neat, he protected my daughters bedding and the rest of her furniture as he worked in her room. Hank also installed a light fixture in my dining room. The previous fixture was 2-3 feet away from the center of the dining table. Hank was able to install the new fixture directly above my dining table. He even patched and textured the old hole where the previous light fixture was installed. He even picked up new recess lights from Home Depot and replaced my outdated lights in the kitchen. Hank was very professional, kind, considerate and so much more. I will definitely reach out to Handy Hank in the future.

Brandon and Robin finished installing a bathroom exhaust fan for me in my master bathroom today. My husband and I were dealing with moisture issues in this bathroom for a year or so and this fan project was long due. For some retarded reason, the steam just wouldn't go out through the window but instead, drifted into our master bedroom even with the bathroom door closed causing it to smell like a locker/shower room (not mold, we don't have mold or a leak...specifically it was a shower steam/locker room smell from all that moisture anytime a long shower was taken).
It was difficult finding an electrician in the area willing to do the job. I must have left 15 messages to different electricians. 1 electrician with reputable reviews in Escondido kept flaking and rescheduling...a bad sign. I called these guys and they answered the phone and were able to put me on the schedule (though I waited 2 weeks since they were busy which was fine with me). And to my surprise, they actually showed up and didn't flake...I almost thought they weren't going to show up since they came during the later part of their 9-10 am window. I was nervous to get the job done with them because they only had 1-2 reviews?? I don't get why they have such little reviews because they did awesome work for me and clearly knew what they were doing.
This bathroom exhaust fan required a dedicated 20 Amp circuit as there was no existing wiring in the bathroom. I had an adjacent gable in the attic that made it easy to duct the exhaust out to so they didn't need to do extra work going through the side of my condo. They showed up around 10 am to do the job, did a quick 30 min shopping trip to get my 6 in duct work and a switch panel, then finished the job at 1 pm. These guys are brothers so they were able to tag team the work to get stuff done efficiently. This job involved going through my attic, installing duct work out to my gable, installing the bath fan in the ceiling, and wiring in the attic, subpanel, and bathroom switches. They also accommodated my request to use smooth (not the flexible) 6 in duct to use since according to the reviews on the bath fan I bought, it would help with condensation and keep the noise down. The smooth duct is more difficult to install than the flexible duct but I was okay paying them extra in labor. I feel that the total price they charged me for this project was more than fair and I am hoping this review doesn't give them too much more business as I want to be sure they will be there anytime I wish to have more electrical work done (yeah, I'm selfish on this).
I just finished a long hot shower in this master bathroom and I have no more condensation on my mirrors or window sill. Also, no more shower/steam smell in the master bedroom either...YAy! Thanks guys.

I wish I could write a better review for these guys, they came recommended by a friend, and were very friendly, but I'll explain briefly why I wasn't particularly pleased with the service.
I called Rudolph to get a couple of non-functional outdoor outlets up and running again. In fairness, the outlets weren't functioning because of some wiring my father-in-law did last year that was the cause of the problem. In any event, after getting Tim to come out on Saturday morning at 10am, he found the problem within about 10 minutes, and explained to me what he'd need to do to fix it. He took off to Home Depot to get parts, and was back fairly quickly. He noted to me though on the way in that he was going to hustle through the job because he had a funeral to go to around noon. I didn't think anything of it, banking on the fact that he was a professional and that the job would be done and done right before he left. That didn't happen. What DID happen was this. After about 45 minutes, he asked me to come back and look at the 2nd outdoor cover he was going to install (having taken care of the first one with little trouble), whereupon he noted that he didn't have screws long enough to accommodate the cover. He'd have to get them from a specialty hardware store, and gave me the name of the store because Home Depot and Lowes didn't carry such an item., which wasn't true - I went to Home Depot and found 4 screws with toggle bolts for $1.98 that worked just fine. Then he gave me two options: he could either a) come back another time (leaving the job unfinished) and take care of it or b) I could find the screws myself and take care of it, which as I said, I did. I conceded that I didn't want to wait until he could be available again and would just do it myself.
Long and short is that I paid $285.00 for 1.5 hours of work, some of which I had to do myself. Also, Tim was apparently in such a hurry that he failed to replace the breaker cover panel on the breaker box before he left. Not a big deal, but unprofessional. Just left me shaking my head.
Again, if you read all my other Yelp reviews, they're 5 stars. I just felt like I was little more than an inconvenience for Rudoplh/Tim this morning, and now I wish I had waited for my regular electrician (who was booked out several weeks). I won't make that mistake again.
UPDATE: I had a conversation with Katelin at Rudolph after I wrote this review, and I explained to her that after a week or so, the outlets that had been repaired were not functioning. Wasn't anything simple either, reset the GFCI, reset the breaker, didn't help. Katelin agreed to offer a partial refund, to which I acquiesced. I received a check yesterday which offset the financial inconvenience a little (not a full refund, which I wasn't expecting, since two outdoor outlet boxes were installed), which is why I'm bumping this up from 2 stars. I appreciate that Rudolph at least made a concerted remedial effort. Not all businesses would do that.

Sam is a wonderful handyman. He has been working at our house off and on for various projects and his crew always does a great job. We've had painting, roof repair, drywall repair, lighting installed, dimmer switches installed...a lot and it's always been done well. Highly recommend this service.

Dejan is reliable and knowledgeable! He wired my master bathroom during my complete remodel. He was thoughtful about helping me figure out how to move things around to make them work. He completed the job and was open to do some additional electrical work I needed! If you need a great electrician hire him!!

Jerry came out the same day we sent a request for a quote. He took his time really looking through our new home and evaluating some items that had come up on an inspection report. This helped him provide us with a very thorough and accurate idea of the work needed and the cost involved, which was vital to us - becoming first-time homeowners and moving had us on a strict budget that we had to be mindful of. He was incredibly fair and considerate throughout the entire process. We had our electrical panel replaced, fixed ungrounded outlets, and even had some outlets added in places that needed them. These were items that were top of our list for safety and peace of mind before moving in and Jerry and his team were able to complete all the work the following week. We so appreciate Hardwire and will be using them for ALL our future electrical needs!

Our community is in search of an electrician and Aaron agreed to come out to check it out. Well, I didn't get a confirmation so when I messaged him, his response was that he couldn't come after all due to a bigger job he has. I asked if he could reschedule or to let me know if he is no longer interested and I did not hear back. He ghosted me. I would not want to do business with someone who is unreliable and unprofessional so I'm glad it never worked out.

We had a short or loose wire in one our circuits and three dead plugs in another room. We called Greg at Irwin Power and Electric. What a great guy!!! He pretty much diagnosed the problems over the phone and spent the time with me to detail what he would do to locate and repair the issues if I wanted to try it myself. He gave me a rough estimate if we wanted hire him. Seemed like a reasonable price for the amount of time and effort it would take so we hired him. Sure glad we did! He checked every switch, plug and light on that circuit and made a number of minor upgrades in the process. He eventually found the issue and repaired it along with the three dead plugs. He was professional, knowledgeable, polite, friendly and reasonably priced. We would hire him again in a heartbeat! Thanks again Greg!

Stay grounded has been out to my house a couple times the last 2 months. Separate installations and they do great work. Showed up on time, was efficient and cleaned up like true professionals. Original install was for up lighting on our new deck and adding an additional electrical box. Second install was new LED can lights all through the downstairs.
The price was right on the money as well. Will never go anywhere else for electronic needs. These are my guys!!!

MacGray Electric is awesome! I've only spoken with Glenn MacGray by phone but, yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting Bryan. Bryan is friendly, professional, expeditious and generous with his knowledge. He gave me several suggestions for fixing a few items myself (which I really appreciated). He came by our beach house to repair some bad outlets and run power to a new garage door opener. While he was onsite, he conducted a thorough inspection for us and found several dead outlets. He repaired these quickly and, cleaned up. Their work is great, their prices are fair and they're nice people. We're very happy with MacGray Electric and I would recommend them to anyone who needs professional electrical work done RIGHT! I'm an actual customer. Call me directly if you need to. I was looking for a licensed electrician to change out my lighting in my house and called Adam with Castle Electric after calling three other companies. Adam by far had the best deal especially if you needed multiple work. Adam quoted me half of what others were charging me. I ended up getting 30 canned lights and three fixtures installed along with dimmers in every room. I can honestly say that he did an outstanding job and me and my wife are completely happy with his work! I highly recommend using Adam as I would definitely use him in the future. Not only is he very professional, but friendly, punctual and very detailed. Also, you can depend on him coming on time. Thanks Adam!

I'm responding to the ceiling fan review. We did install one of the blades upside down but the colors were similar and neither we nor the customer saw it at first. We returned to flip the blade as soon as we heard and we apologized. The remotes all synced to each other when we set them up. We spent an hour trying to get them independent but we couldn't. The owner replaced the remotes and when we installed them they all worked independently. We charged for the return because the new remotes proved it wasn't our fault. The ceiling fans were balanced when we left. She never asked us to come back to rebalance. I can understand the customer's frustration but we can't be responsible for manufacturing problems or poor quality fans.
