Based on the positive reviews, we gave Hayward a try. We won't use their services again. The positives: their quote was about $500 less than Tree Pros & about $115 less than Arbor Care; Hayward trimmed & fertilized the trees well; their communication (calling ahead to inform us the techs were on the way) was good, as was their response time when I expressed concerns & unhappiness. The negatives: the guys totally destroyed our watering lines when grinding two stumps; they didn't bother to tell us they did so; when someone returned to fix the lines, he had to fix one set & head to Lowe's to get more supplies because he wasn't told he had to fix two sets; he didn't bother asking to test the system before he left so it wasn't until I returned home from work that we discovered he crossed the tubing lines (now half of our plants are one one line, and the other half is on the same line/schedule as our trees); he didn't clean up his mess (I found pieces of tubing around the areas he replaced); he didn't bother to put the tubes back in the ground. One suggestion I would offer up to Hayward after our ordeal is that their quotes/estimates be more specific. I sent pics to them for our myrtle bushes that needed trimmed but their quote only called them a bush. Result? When the trimmers showed up, they didn't know which bushes to trim (and my sister, who was home, didn't remember they were supposed to trim them). So this isn't a complaint since we were partially at fault (me for not asking for the quote to be specific, my sister for not listening to me, Hayward for not adding the bush name to the quote; I mean, the trees on the quote were specifically named so why not the bushes? So yes, there was some good experiences, but in my opinion the bad experiences outweighed the good, hence the lower rating. I'm disappointed because based on other reviews, I was really hoping to have found a new tree care service.

Gerson was easy to contact and set up an appointment. He gave a ballpark estimate before he came out to give me an idea. I have no idea what sprinkler repairs cost so that helps - you never know, is it $50 or $500 ? He was prompt and courteous, very knowledgeable about the product. Even though this was his first time at the house, he figured out the system right away.

Ramiero was very quick to respond via the Yelp App. Also, when I called him he responded promptly via phone and text.   Yard looks great.

I highly recommend Lucas Lawn Care. We worked with Ryan on designing and implementing a very large job at our home (new construction, so NO landscaping so far) Ryan had a lot of great ideas and implemented them perfectly. He always called and/or showed up when he said he would.  Very pleasant to work with and his entire team was as good. Negotiated great prices on our behalf with the various vendors and delivered on all of it! We would absolutely use Ryan and Lucas Lawn Care again and plan to in the near future. We are completely satisfied and love our finished product.  Thanks Ryan!

My husband and I had a horrible weed problem in our yard. It was in terrible shape. We were contacted promptly by Alex from Velasco when I inquired about a quote for the job. He came over the same day and gave us a thorough, free consultation. I was impressed by his quick response and the description he gave about exactly what he could do to improve our yard. His quote was very reasonable as well. Today, his team came out and did a wonderful job on clearing the weeds/grass patches in our yard and spraying any stragglers for weed prevention. It looks like a new yard! I was also impressed that they even netted our pool to get rid of the debris from the blower. Excellent customer service! The workers were very polite. We know who to call for our landscaping needs in the future! Thank you, Velasco!!

Friendly staff, fast response, fair pricing. Scheduling was convenient and easy, crew showed up right on time, and the quality of work was just right. Will definitely use Tree Pros in the future -- and recommend them to anyone who needs a palm tree cleaned up.

Ryan was extremely responsive to my ask for 12 tons of rock to be spread in my back yard. He suggested also digging out and resetting the rivers (the drainage channels of large river rock) which was a great suggestion as they now look great.

We agreed price and a target timescale a few weeks out and he stuck to it. Ryan arranged the rock drop location with the rock company so I had nothing to do there and his guys showed up on schedule to take care of the spreading.

Watch the crews like a hawk!!!  I had a couple of trees and bushes removed in late December and one of the two crews that came out damaged my block wall.  Unfortunately for me I didn't see it happen, but am positive that those were the only two vehicles through the alleyway the entire day.  There was a large garbage can that was in the way of a vehicle, was moved, and tipped over and fell into the block wall causing around $600 worth of damage.

After calling TreePros about an hour or two after the incident, they sent Brian out to assess the damage.  Brian is extremely difficult to work with and rude.  He blamed garbage trucks and contractors across the alley before even asking me what I saw.

After Brian stopped returning my calls, I tried contacting a supervisor at the main office, and surprise, nobody returned my calls there either.  Small claims court fees would be close to 50% of the cost of the repair and unfortunately I wasn't watching the work being done so my evidence isn't rock solid.

Never calling them again.

Absolutely amazing service! Called, got a quote, and had it serviced all in the same day. They were quick and efficient. Excellent way to get a customer for life.

These guys were great! We have a Jacuranda tree in the front yard that was in need of being cut back. They were very responsive and cost effective. On the day of service, a crew of 2 came to trim the tree and then later that day, another crew came to shred up the trimmings. The tree looks so much better and is ready for the Spring/Summer. I would highly recommend Trees for Needs.

This was the first year we used Trees for Needs to work on our 16+ trees including palms, European fan palms pines, bottle trees, willow acacias, eucalyptus and my favorite cascalote.  I LOVED the way they trimmed, pruned, lightened, and balanced our trees.  Andy listened so carefully to what I wanted (don't disturb the bird nest in the european fan palm! keep my cascalote trunk system in tact to preserve it's amazing structure! etc.).  The whole team really made everything look great while insuring the trees would handle the wind and weather appropriately.  Thank you to the entire team!

We hired Geronimo to remove part of our back patio and pour a new larger patio.  They came and removed all the old cement and a tree stump.  They worked really hard the first day and we were impressed how well things looked.  Then we could not get them to come back the next two days and finish they job.  We had to pay half up front but Geronimo came back and gave us our money back for the work that was not complete.  We are very thankful that he was at least good enough to return the money.

Geronimo was awesome, he and his crew did a great job on a small paver and turf project. He is very professional and takes pride in his work.

Gave me a fair estimate and scheduled sevice two days later. Again showed up right on time. Very kind and professional, worked quickly and got the job done.

This is my first time hiring a landscaping Company, and I'm very appreciative that it was so easy with Geronimo, especially as so many other Companies are not quick to respond to requests to quote and/or do not show up on time.

We have two palm trees in our backyard that were in desperate need of trimming. George came out the same day I contacted him and got the job done. He even cleaned the debris that got in the pool once he was finished. He did an excellent job and we will for sure be contacting him again for other landscaping needs.

They did not finish the job they were payed to do. I was told they would come back at a later date to finish and they never returned....he even seemed irritated when I was texting and calling him. I have all the text messages to prove this guy is a liar and ripped me off. The partial irrigation system they installed started to leak after a few months. DO NOT pay this man until the job is 100% complete....or, just save your time and go with a better and more honest landscaper.

I was referred to Lucas Lawn and I have to say it was the best referral I could have received.  They not only are SUPER honest but extremely professional.  Jourdan was prompt and did a very neat and detailed job taking care of my palm trees.  He even went out to his way to make sure my property was secured and safe before he left.  I look forward to utilizing their services throughout the year.  You get what you pay for!  If you want quality work from some guys that truly understand the needs of each tree, then you want to give Lucas Lawn and Yard Care a shot.  You will not be disappointed.

These guys are great if you just need a basic trimming or removal. If you need anything else they're largely useless as they seem incapable of following simple directions.

The first time we had them out they were trimming some trees and were supposed to remove a dead one. The trees looked nice but they forgot to remove the dead one. The next time we asked them to come give us an opinion on whether one of our trees was killed by bugs or by sunburn from overtrimming (by a different company). They gave is a quote to remove the tree and nothing else. The wind a couple days ago partially knocked over one of our trees so we had them out to give us a quote on how much it would cost to save the tree. This was communicated to the office as well as in person and yet we only received a quote for removal. We'll be finding a different company with people that actually listen.
