The entire Hayward team did an incredible job of removing a large mesquite tree from my yard. The initial contact was on Monday and the  effort setting an appointment for an estimate was easy.  I got a quick, friendly estimate on Tuesday and the tree was removed on Thursday morning. Service was great. Price was right. I would recommend Hayward Tree Service. I will use them again.

We had our front yard and side yard regraveled. They prepped the ground, Installed Weed cloth and distributed all new gravel and sprayed afterwards with weed killer.
The price was very reasonable, they communicated well and did an excellent job. I highly recommend this Company

Lifelong professional landscapers and family-own/operated business that does amazing work.  I used Lucas Lawn to come out an fix a HORRIBLE install done by a different company 4 years ago. This was no small job as I am on an acre of land with 10,000 sq ft of grass.

I was going to rip the entire lawn, sprinklers and everything out.  But Ryan, the owner, came up with a much better solution that was less invasive and destructive and SAVED me a TON of money.  He not only fixed and updated the irrigation system, HE SAVED THE ENTIRE LAWN AS WELL!

They all wore company shirts, used professional equipment (including trucks and trailers) and kept the job site clean at all times.  They have many crews and at times multiple trucks showed up to knock out the work quickly.  

I 100% recommend Lucas Lawn for regular maintenance, installs, repairs or just to help out with head scratching issues.

We had a massive amount of backyard weeds. It had become a fire hazard.  I reached Ana and she put me in touch with Benito. He and his helper were there within 20 minutes, gave the estimate and went to work. Night and day. They work fast and efficient. Would hire again.

Arrived on time, polite, cleaned up all of the trimmings, and some of the other tree debris in the yard.  A total of three trees, all done in just over an hour.

Friendly staff, fast response, fair pricing. Scheduling was convenient and easy, crew showed up right on time, and the quality of work was just right. Will definitely use Tree Pros in the future -- and recommend them to anyone who needs a palm tree cleaned up.

Ryan was extremely responsive to my ask for 12 tons of rock to be spread in my back yard. He suggested also digging out and resetting the rivers (the drainage channels of large river rock) which was a great suggestion as they now look great.

We agreed price and a target timescale a few weeks out and he stuck to it. Ryan arranged the rock drop location with the rock company so I had nothing to do there and his guys showed up on schedule to take care of the spreading.

I experienced monsoon damage to a very majestic ash tree this year. tree pro came within 2 days to estimate removal of it for what seemed a reasonable price..had to wait almost 2 1/2 weeks to be on the schedule when they did show it was  not within the promised time frame, no notification they were here, trimmed a tree in the front yard and left (I had that added to the work order). called later that day and was told the workers didnt notice the 2nd page of the work order, came back the next day to take down the larger tree and then decided they could not do without a crane! $800 plus for a crane...when i asked for an exact price I never got a call back. basically they dumped the job..had to call twice to get my down payment bac k. I called Whitfill nursery where I bought the replacement tree and they referred me to a company called Tree Huggers who came out and did a fabulous job and hey didnt even need a crane! I was jerked around by Tree Pro;s in many ways and this is one of the worst dealings with a company I have ever dealt with....save yourself some aggravation and delays.

Used them two times and must say there are much better landscapers out there that I will be hiring one of in the future.  One thing that they did that was frustrating was they just showed up without confirming a day with me (2 times), thank goodness someone was home to let them in the backyard.  Their prices are on the higher side considering the quality of the service is average at best.  But mainly, the owner was super rude to me when on the second visit, (an annual service, none the less -) the work that we had verbally agreed upon was not completed and I had to call them back out to complete the job.  The owner then proceeded to be argumentative with me and inform me that he had written down everything on the invoice, which he had not and how he'd had trouble with me all 3 times he'd serviced my house. - Interesting, because he'd only been there twice and the previous year there WAS an issue but it was with a neighbor's tree and not with me at all.  So, in conclusion, they finished the work and my yard looks fine now - but I must advise that I would look further before doing business with a vendor that would talk to a female client so disrespectfully without having of their facts straight, very unprofessional.

Very professional, Walt was very knowledgeable about trees and willing to share.  Hired to remove a large mesquite limb that was damaged and about to damage our fence.  Also, had them trim our other trees.  The scheduler was willing to work with me to get our appointment ahead of schedule per my request.  All at a reasonable price.  The work was done exactly as Walt and I discussed.

TL;DR - If you want your trees trimmed well AND your property to be respected, maybe look elsewhere.

Had Hummingbird come out to trim all the trees on our property (2 mesquites, 2 eucalyptus, multiple small palms, and 1 desert something). While the pricing was competitive with other bids we received, the process of actually getting them out and the end result left a lot to be desired.

I had originally booked service for July 19th, but had to be rescheduled to the 23rd due to a broken chipper. The day before the 23rd I reached out again to confirm and received no response. Day of I got a message that the chipper was still broken and could we do Tuesday. Sure. Tuesday rolls around and they need to reschedule again. They ended up not making it out until the 27th.

All that nonsense aside, they busted their asses trimming the trees - they were here almost all day. Overall, I am mostly happy with the trimming itself and how my trees look. The arborist seemed very knowledgable and talked to us about things to consider and how to manage tree care moving forward (we've only been here a couple years and this is our first time having the trees done).

What I am not happy with is how they treated my property in general.
There were a ton of half empty/empty water bottles that were left all over my backyard. They cleaned up most of the tree debris in my yard itself, but left the debris that fell into the wash behind us which we will prob hear about from our HOA. Our next door neighbor contacted us to say that they had left a bunch of debris in their yard as well. As they were dragging branches out of my yard, they damaged a young Pineapple Guava (broke the top right off of it - luckily the tree itself will live). They moved some large grow bags, as they must have been in the way, but didn't bother to move them back (some of which are VERY heavy). They broke some small pavers (not a big deal but it happened). And they unplugged our sprinkler box/irrigation timer and didn't plug them back in - it took us a few days to realize this and our plants and grass suffered for it.

I had a time scheduled to meet. They didn't bother showing up, and didn't bother to contact me. When i sent them a message that evening asking what happened they said they had a lot of work.

If you can't make an appointment, have the decency to let the people know instead of leaving them hanging. It would have taken what, 15 seconds to call/text and say you couldn't make it?

Geronimo was awesome, he and his crew did a great job on a small paver and turf project. He is very professional and takes pride in his work.

Gave me a fair estimate and scheduled sevice two days later. Again showed up right on time. Very kind and professional, worked quickly and got the job done.

This is my first time hiring a landscaping Company, and I'm very appreciative that it was so easy with Geronimo, especially as so many other Companies are not quick to respond to requests to quote and/or do not show up on time.

I had Roman Landscape out to trim a few tall Mexican Fan Palms in my back yard. The process started with quick clear communication and a competitive quote. They arrived right on time as scheduled, did excellent work, and did a very thorough cleanup of all of the tree trimmings, including those that landed in and around the pool. Very professional and top tier service. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Will hire him again and recommend to friends in a heartbeat.

They did not finish the job they were payed to do. I was told they would come back at a later date to finish and they never returned....he even seemed irritated when I was texting and calling him. I have all the text messages to prove this guy is a liar and ripped me off. The partial irrigation system they installed started to leak after a few months. DO NOT pay this man until the job is 100% complete....or, just save your time and go with a better and more honest landscaper.

asked to get an in-home review and estimate of xeriscaping our front yard. Sergio sent a appointment request via Yelp, I accepted... and he didn't show up.
Hired another company (Perez Landscapeing) and they are starting next week.

I was referred to Lucas Lawn and I have to say it was the best referral I could have received.  They not only are SUPER honest but extremely professional.  Jourdan was prompt and did a very neat and detailed job taking care of my palm trees.  He even went out to his way to make sure my property was secured and safe before he left.  I look forward to utilizing their services throughout the year.  You get what you pay for!  If you want quality work from some guys that truly understand the needs of each tree, then you want to give Lucas Lawn and Yard Care a shot.  You will not be disappointed.

These guys are great if you just need a basic trimming or removal. If you need anything else they're largely useless as they seem incapable of following simple directions.

The first time we had them out they were trimming some trees and were supposed to remove a dead one. The trees looked nice but they forgot to remove the dead one. The next time we asked them to come give us an opinion on whether one of our trees was killed by bugs or by sunburn from overtrimming (by a different company). They gave is a quote to remove the tree and nothing else. The wind a couple days ago partially knocked over one of our trees so we had them out to give us a quote on how much it would cost to save the tree. This was communicated to the office as well as in person and yet we only received a quote for removal. We'll be finding a different company with people that actually listen.
