Best General Contractors in Phoenix, AZ

So, I am in the middle of a remodel with Schott.  I have to give them extreme credit.  I am redoing my kitchen and building out my fireplace, as well as replacing all the counters in my bathroom.  To begin, they were very much on time and reliable during the quote process.  Their quotes were detailed and extremely easy to understand.  There were no hidden costs or details.  They ran through the project with me a few times, making sure that it was what I wanted and even made a few suggestions.

His right hand guys are Shane and Jim.  Both of them are amazing.  Shane will come out and bid the job and Jim runs the job.  Shane initially came out with Chris and we went through the job.  Then, he came out again to check things out.  THEN, he brought Jim and met with my interior designer and went through the job AGAIN to make sure that everything was correct.

Jim runs the job and he literally texts and calls all the time and gives updates.  He stays on schedule and really tries to accommodate the living situation for the person in the home.  For example, I needed my stove for Thanksgiving but we were installing the granite.  He made sure that I had a working stove so I could at least cook after the counters were installed.  It was just a kind thing to do, that he really didn't have to do, but he made it work just to make me happy.  I mean, that says a lot.   I seriously can't say enough about these guys.

The reliability and honesty factors are two of the most important things to me.  These guys won't walk off the job.  They have a portal where you can track progress and Jim is CONSTANTLY in contact with you, explaining what is going on and where the project is.  Sometimes, he will literally call me first thing in the morning to make sure I know what is going on for the day. He has even sped up some of the timeline, which was remarkable.  And through it all, he makes sure that his guys clean up as best they can, each day.

A remodel is a daunting experience, so it's really important to have people you trust running it.  That's actually really worth something.  These guys are not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive, either.

There have been some minor bumps with the remodel, but I was fully expecting that.  And, fyi, anyone should expect bumps and bruises during a remodel.  What is most important is that, whenever an issue popped up or a problem occurred, they immediately call and advised me.  They didn't try to minimize the issue or cast blame on anyone.  They just said, "don't worry, we will fix it."  And they did.  You can't really ask for more than that, either.  Mistakes will happen - - but the question is how are those mistakes handled.    I will update this review when the remodel is done.  But, thus far, I would recommend them to anyone...

If you're looking for a general contractor, highly recommend Kyle King. We had a wall removed, cabinets and countertops pulled, and some electrical rewiring. He was very flexible with us as changes were made while he progressed with the job. Job was completed faster than expected and was extremely clean throughout the process.  Received several quotes, he was the most competitively priced, great comms, and he's local to Queen Creek. We used them to replace our baseboards. Excellent job. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again. Very organized, cleaned up as they worked, and very easy to work with.

Manny was awesome to work with.  He helped me fixed a nasty leak on my roof and did full drywall work on my Garage ceiling.  VERY FAIR Prices and super honest kinda guy.  Hit him up!

Can't say anything about their quality of work because no one bothered to show up to our first appointment. When my husband called he was told that the man he initially talked to sometimes doesn't write his appointments down and we could call him directly.  He was already 20 minutes late. No way am I calling him. It's his responsibility to inform me if he is running late.

Honestly, WHY would I spend 20-30 thousand dollars on a company that doesn't even show up to the first appointment? Absolutely unprofessional and untrustworthy in my eyes.

Super happy with Ron and Sam coming to my rescue to replace a corroded faucet for the washing machine. Super polite and professional, Sam even cleaned the floor under the washer when he moved it! Will call them again for other repairs and maintenance.

Jerry and his crew did an amazing job!   I am in Texas and needed to find someone to move beds at my parents house in Goodyear.  They moved one king bed up stairs and set it up and then assembled another with electric frame downstairs.   My parents were thrilled with how friendly and helpful Jerry was.  They are so happy they now have someone to call for any other repairs or help they may need.  I would HIGHLY recommend JNB for whatever project you may have.

****SLIMY, LYING, ZERO INTEGRITY**** DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME
Joe, the GC/owner, lied repeatedly throughout the project. He does NOT ever accept any responsibility for his severe inability to communicate with his sub's, us, and his vendor's about the project details. Expect to foreman your own job if you want it done right. MY husband was the foreman from start to finish. Every single sub contractor that came over, every single time never had any direction or idea what to do.
Rather than having integrity and doing what's ethical when mistakes were made *THERE WERE ALOT* by taking responsibility for them, Joe instead placed the blame on me and my husband. EVERY SINGLE TIME. The project went 2.5 months over due date. He continued to give excuses from being too busy to handle the load, to having medical issues, to finally him blaming Covid for the delay.
The final outcome is acceptable, only because my husband spent the time during work giving direction to the sub contractor's and away from work to be home to QC the sub contracto'r work. It's concerning to think how bad it could've been because Joe doesn't have any method for managing his jobs, communicating effectively with anyone, and he doesn't utilize any quality guidelines.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

This company is amazing!  I needed to get my father's home fixed up prior to him coming home from the hospital and was on a short timeline.  They were able to get all accomplished within that timeframe.  The contractors they sent were true craftsmen and paid close attention to the details.  I will use them again and recommend their flooring installation services.

They changed workers on a bath remodel every couple of days
They put wrong edges on my walls and had to redo them
Measures mirrors incorrectly and refuse to fix
I had to have them fix the shelving in the closet as they put what they thought I should have instead of what I asked for and could not rip it all out
They were friendly this was a 3-4 week job and took them more than 5 to complete because of all the mess ups
Was told on Friday some one would be here on Monday to fix a couple of problems and I had to call them at noon to find out they were not sure where to person was that was to show up and so they called me back at 4 to say they would have to call again tomorrow to get an appointment scheduled

Overpriced with aggressive sales tactics.  They get referrals from Lowes and Home Depot, and leverage that to try and charge very high prices.
I called them for a rebath, because I had a shower valve leak inside the wall.

Sales tactics similar to what you would get from a user car sale shop: pushing single panel product, which does not look good and they overcharge for.  Then their prices for tiles are even higher, with a net price double what competitors will offer.
Scare tactics like: "if you have mold it could be hundreds of thousands of dollars".  They ran a humidity meter saying along a wall saying that water had leaked through; it was completely wrong as the leak was on the other side with no issue whatsoever in the spot where they ran their meter.  Then the rep just flashed a price on a tablet, with no details, and pushed us to sign.  I replied that we were only shopping around at that point.  I indicated their prices were high and the rep agreed to follow up and send us the detailed quote.  We never received that detailed quote..

Tiana and Glen stole $18950.00 of my money as a deposit on a large cabinet order for a new build of my home. they stalled and stalled and in the end would not produce the cabinets or a refund of my money. Cannot trust them to give you what you payed for. please contact the ROC regarding their reputation and they are not licensed contractors.
