Greenheart did our front lawn in central Phoenix.  Overall it was a very positive experience, we love our yard and many of the best features were ideas direct from Mike.  We bid this out to several contractors over the course of 3 months, and only Mike came up with novel ideas that gave our yard real personality.  We've had a number of neighbors and passersby comment on how nice the yard looks.  Some pros and cons of the experience listed below.

Pros:
- Price was fair.  The quote was broken down in detail, which allowed us to easily evaluate the Greenheart cost vs others.  While their price wasn't the lowest, that was mainly due to our desire to include a paver walkway, some treewells, etc that other bidders hadn't included as options (all Mike's ideas).  
- They weren't pushy about adding anything, the choice was left to us for what we wanted to include/exclude.  Low pressure.
- Mike was very attentive during the design process.  He went and looked at plants with us and had a real passion for the work.
- They provided us with an initial sketch with the bid and a more detailed drawing at the beginning of the project.  This helped with alignment on what the yard was going to look like and what was expected.
- The crew was very respectful and clean when doing the work.

Cons:
- Communication wasn't very strong once the project got started.  There were a number of occasions where I felt like I was relaying info between Irene, Mike, the foreman, and back again.  I felt like I had to be present to make sure the yard was done according to what we wanted/expected.
- The project closeout was poor.  While the main body of work was done quickly, there were a handful of unresolved items that I had to email and text about for a few weeks before they came back to fix them.
- The treatment for the areas that went from grass to rock have a lot of grass coming back up.  This was a concern I expressed at the onset of the project, but I am still spraying Roundup frequently.  I expected to have to continuously treat the rock areas to prevent the growth of grass, but not so soon after the work was completed (grass started popping up in areas about a week after the job and continues to appear).

They must not need business because they're awful at returning calls, voicemails and texts. There are too many options out there to be so uncommunicative

I sent my project details for a quote in February and didn't hear back. I followed up a month later and still no response. If you aren't taking on new clients that's perfectly okay, but just communicate and let a person know. That's all.

Efficient, fast, reasonable price. Highly recommend! Previous owner planted a tree in a flower bed that had grown so much it had cracked the flower bed. I wish I had before and after photos because Green Valley Tree-Specialists & Landscaping were able to remove the stump and masonry quickly and now it looks like nothing was even there! Really great job.

Miguel set an appointment with me to come take a look and give me an estimate for the job and he never showed up and never heard back from him.

Salvador came through as promised and did an excellent job installing the sprinkler system for a side yard project that I have been working on recently.
I appreciate that he offers suggestions and listens to my ideas and concerns. We came up with a good solution for the sod installation. Also, he has been consistent in keeping me updated with dates/times when work will be performed. I did not have to wonder if he was going to show, he scheduled a new appointment when timing changed. That is professional and means a great deal to me.
He also is taking care of my monthly yard maintenance. The crew did not cut my plant watering lines, which was a frequent issue with other yard maintenance crews so I appreciate that very much. He discussed maintaining the lawn areas (watering requirements and fertilizing) which shows a concern to help me maintain the yard properly. The yard is looking good again!
I'm looking forward to working with him long term and can finally keep the yard in decent shape while I focus on other responsibilities

very easy to work with Hector and his dad and the whole crew for that. i knew exactly what i wanted done and I had a time limit that others could not meet. hector came out said they could start the next week and was done by the end of the week putting me ahead of schedule.

Pablo and Carlos are awesome! Their team was fast and did an amazing job. I recommend them with more than 5 stars. I will definitely call them again.

I had mixed feelings about how I wanted to rate this company.  
The good- George is a nice guy, returned my message pretty quick and came out the next day to look at my yard and gave me a quote.  Took about 3 weeks from that initial visit for them to start my project (which I thought was great because at these times, most companies seem to be booked out for months and are not even taking on any new projects.)

The bad- once the project was started, the completion of it kept getting pushed back- he would text me on the day when he was scheduled to come, and would say he would come the following week instead.  This happened 4 times.
Our project consisted of paver placement to widen our driveway and to create a pathway to our side gate, as well as paver steps leading up to our front door pathway.  Design was great.  Quality of work was poor.  There wasn't enough cement applied on the sides of the pavers on the side pathway initially, so the pavers shifted. He did fix this, but when I also looked at the cement applied to the edge of the extended driveway, I have concerns that it isn't going to hold...we'll see how that goes.  There also wasn't enough sand applied in between the pavers- I ended up doing this myself.  The steps that were made for us looked great, but after he completed the work and moved all the rock back, I discovered later that evening that several of the pavers easily come off and were not glued in properly.  I told George about it and it's been 2 weeks and he never texted me back.  Oh and he says there's no surprise costs, but he tacked on another $75 at the very end without advance notice for the steps because it took more work than expected. He didn't even replant my agave that he said he would move for me in the beginning.  I ended up fixing and doing everything myself to make sure things were actually done right and done well.

I would be wary of using this company- they seem to start projects quickly, probably so that you're stuck using them, but quality and completion may not be as expected.

We had Happy Tree come out to give us a quote on irrigation and an area of dog turf.  Their price was fair and the did a great job. They were quick to respond to any questions prior to the install. You could bare tell where they had to bury the new irrigation lines.  The turf looks great and we would definitely use them again.

Excellent work for a fair price.  I recommend them and will use them for all of my landscaping needs.

Naji was great to work with - extremely responsive, knowledgeable and fair.  We had an artificial turf installation project.  He listened to our needs, made recommendations, accommodated our requests and was able to install within a few days.  The team did a great job.   The price he quoted was fair, so we did not get other bids.  If we have future landscaping needs, we will definitely use this company again.  Very happy with the experience.  Thanks Yelp reviewers for helping me find this company!

My experience couldn't have gone better.  I inquired on costs, they got back to me really quickly, and then they did a bang-up job when it came time to actually doing it.

I was a potential customer who contacted the company for a custom job,  very confusing and unprofessional experience.

All Terrain Landscaping went above and beyond for me. They were able to fit me in quickly, showed up exactly on time, worked quickly, and did a super clean-up.  This job was to remove twenty-year-old shrubs along our front walk and entryway. The roots ran so deep and were so entrenched it really took a large effort to remove them. Neal, the team leader, was very friendly and knew exactly what he was doing. He and his crew left the place looking clean and sharp. He also gave me some good advice on what plants would now grow well in this area. They also capped off the drip irregation lines we no long need.  Could hardly tell large plants had ever even been there. There are several other landscaping projects I'm contemplating and now know that All Terrain Landscaping is the company I'll use if I should move forward with them. They know their business, are honest, and great to work with. Five Stars Plus!

Highly recommend! We had dead bushes and trees to remove and a lot of clean up on our trees and yard we couldn't keep up with. I sent a message on yelp and got a very quick response. He came out to provide a quote Friday and we got scheduled for the next morning Saturday at 7 AM. He was on time, professional, and did a great job. I plan on using this company for future maintenance as well once I can figure out a good time for me personally to do this.

Omar and his crew did a wonderful job on our landscaping. They removed a tree and various plants. They also planted more flowering plants, fixed and placed more dip irrigation and spread more gravel. My yard looks great and we will be using Omar again for our future landscaping needs!

Honest, Professional, Respectful is what Windmill Landscaping is about. They are the only company that responded / kept appointment out of the 7 that I contacted on Yelp.   Juan is the most professional landscaper that you could hope to hire.  On time and follows up to all communications within a day.  He was infinitely patient with all of our changes, as our smallish project turned into a huge one.  Anything and everything I wanted a change on (many of those) was met with Juan's Not a problem, we can do that.  We ended up with two new fake grass areas (dogs LOVE their doggy grass), new back wall, huge paver patio, planting of my cocktail grove (lemon, orange and lime), many palms and most importantly, fixing my ancient irrigation system.  If Juan wasn't happy with the work done he would call it to my attention and have it fixed.  Worth every penny having the peace of mind that your contractor is ethical and knowing he expects the same amount of professionalism from his sub contractors.  Soon it is the front yard re-do and I would never use anyone else.  I have already referred him to a friend.

I had unbelievably high water bills and knew I had a problem but could not find the water leak. Finally, while driving in one evening, I see water running down my block. I finally discover the leak that seems to only appear at night and in not 1 but 3 different spots. So, I called Nico to come out to both repair the leaks and to also remove a bunch of small palm trees from my side yard.

He arrived the next day. He was friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable. He quickly assessed the situation and located all of the leaks which were pretty bad. He checked each tree to see the condition of the drip heads and also check the irrigation controller. Lastly he looked at the trees I wanted removed.

Nico gave me a fair quote and completed the work the same day. He did a BEAUTIFUL job! He was extremely thorough. He showed me where all the breaks were in the lines and what/how he repaired it. He reset the water controller to end the overwatering that had been going on. After the repairs he turned on the water to double check that everything was solidly holding. He also removed the trees and eliminated their drip heads so that I wouldn't be watering dirt!

I was extremely impressed and satisfied with his work. He left everything neat and orderly. I'm thrilled and feel confident that the water leaks are finally repaired. Should I ever have another irrigation issue he will be the first person I call. I would highly recommend Nico!
