They quoted me a price to remove a mesquite tree (based on pictures) and then nearly doubled it when they showed up to do the work and saw the tree. They were supposed to be at my house at 6:00am to do the work. At 6:00am, they told me it would actually be 9:00am. Then they showed up around 7:45am while I was dropping off my daughter. When I got home they were already it my backyard. This could have been very bad. I had not locked my dogs in the house, because I though I had another hour. The price they adjusted to was not dissimilar to other companies' quotes, but I had them leave because I didn't like the way they did business.

Greenheart did our front lawn in central Phoenix.  Overall it was a very positive experience, we love our yard and many of the best features were ideas direct from Mike.  We bid this out to several contractors over the course of 3 months, and only Mike came up with novel ideas that gave our yard real personality.  We've had a number of neighbors and passersby comment on how nice the yard looks.  Some pros and cons of the experience listed below.

Pros:
- Price was fair.  The quote was broken down in detail, which allowed us to easily evaluate the Greenheart cost vs others.  While their price wasn't the lowest, that was mainly due to our desire to include a paver walkway, some treewells, etc that other bidders hadn't included as options (all Mike's ideas).  
- They weren't pushy about adding anything, the choice was left to us for what we wanted to include/exclude.  Low pressure.
- Mike was very attentive during the design process.  He went and looked at plants with us and had a real passion for the work.
- They provided us with an initial sketch with the bid and a more detailed drawing at the beginning of the project.  This helped with alignment on what the yard was going to look like and what was expected.
- The crew was very respectful and clean when doing the work.

Cons:
- Communication wasn't very strong once the project got started.  There were a number of occasions where I felt like I was relaying info between Irene, Mike, the foreman, and back again.  I felt like I had to be present to make sure the yard was done according to what we wanted/expected.
- The project closeout was poor.  While the main body of work was done quickly, there were a handful of unresolved items that I had to email and text about for a few weeks before they came back to fix them.
- The treatment for the areas that went from grass to rock have a lot of grass coming back up.  This was a concern I expressed at the onset of the project, but I am still spraying Roundup frequently.  I expected to have to continuously treat the rock areas to prevent the growth of grass, but not so soon after the work was completed (grass started popping up in areas about a week after the job and continues to appear).

Turf Monsters exceeded our expectations.  They helped to completely transform our backyard.  Every step of the process was great, from the planning and quote, demolition, and construction.  Communication was excellent and the crews were professional and clean.  A++++, would definitely recommend them.

Quick response at a reasonable price. Met with me on a Thursday afternoon and we're here Saturday morning.

Green Valley Tree & Landscape was fantastic. From the quote being the fastest and most reasonable and being able to schedule the job quickly. They showed up right when they said they would and when they left they cleaned up better than any company I have ever worked with! I would give this company 10 stars if I could!

My lawn hasn't been maintained for a few months and the recent rain jumpstarted a lot of growth (and weeds).
Miguel responded immediately via Yelp and showed up this morning to check out my yard and give me a quote. Miguel offered a reasonable and competitive price and was able to come back the same afternoon to fix up my landscaping. I'm grateful that he was able to get started so quickly as my yard was in complete disarray before him. He mentioned he also does other landscape work (laying down pavers and helping diver rain water away from my property since my area is prone to flooding) so I'll update my review after those are completed.

Sal came out and gave us an estimate and then came out again the next day to help us with a leak in our drip system that started when another company came out to test the system.  We were so appreciative that he came out and helped us because the other company would not come back out and wanted us to wait and have water leaking around our home's foundation.  Sal installed a new drip system and we are excited to have him continue to maintain our yard.  We will also be having him put grass in our backyard when we are ready and he already set up the system so it will be ready when we are.

I've done business with Nevarez Landscaping and Construction, twice now. I am very pleased with their work. The father-son family owned business, take great pride in their work. They have a great staff, as well. They were really helpful with input and ideas, when we told them what we were thinking of doing, with our backyard. The father really impressed me, during our first meeting. He was so excited and full of energy, and ideas. They were very reasonable, and happy to take our business, despite our budget. They gave us so many options of things to do, within our budget. They installed our sod, sprinklers, drip lines, border, and built us a wonderful retaining wall. They added extra drip lines to our planter area, without our request and at no additional cost. They gave us a reasonable warranty on the work and plants......even extended our plant warranty, when we were unsure that they would take, due to the timing of our project. It's been six months, since the project was completed. I called about some advice on a problem I was having with a leaking valve. Hector was quick to respond. He advised me of my options and even suggested a better quality model of what I needed.  He worked with me on a price that we both thought was fair. He scheduled the job for the very next day, despite him having to work on another project. Even though he was unable to keep the initial agreed upon start time, he made contact to schedule a later time, and arrived shortly afterwards. Well, the job took longer than either one of us thought it would, but Hector and his worker wanted to make sure it was done right. After all that, Hector was professional enough to look into a couple of areas that I was concerned about, regarding my first project. He was attentive and resourceful. I highly recommend this family owned, father-son team. I would definately call and consider them for any future projects. I very much enjoy the time spent out back. I love to show off the backyard to family and friends, when they are over for partys and bbq's.

Pablo and Carlos are awesome! Their team was fast and did an amazing job. I recommend them with more than 5 stars. I will definitely call them again.

Bottom line up front, this company was quick to respond to my initial quote and provided reasonable prices.

George does not charge a diagnostic fee (unlike other companies I called) and was determined to fix my sprinkler system. There was a bit of a hiccup, since we couldn't pinpoint the exact problem, however George worked tirelessly to find the solution! He has good work ethics provides high-quality work and is a man of his words.

George was able to remedy all my lawn problems and now my lawn is back to normal!  

Thanks for the hard work! I will definitely contract Astonishing Landscape and Design for the future should I need George's services.

I was very Happy with the quality work they did. They redid whole drip system and planted the plants I picked. They left everything very clean. I would recommend them to others.

We had a great experience with JNK. They did a beautiful job on our backyard! When we reached out for a quote, we got an immediate response. Naji came out and was very professional and knowledgeable! We would use JNK landscaping again and highly recommend them.

Immediate response from Eli and he asked permission to take pictures (as I was not home).  We did everything else via email.  I had to wait a month for the actual work because I had other things going on, NOT because of AMS, who would've been out within a week or so.

Unlike others, I did not get competing bids.  I read the reviews and noticed that AMS had long time satisfied customers.  That tells me a lot.  His bid was fair for the work needing to be done.

3 men showed up, did a fabulous job.  We then did a walk through and they thinned the forest of bamboo a little more at my request.
They even blew the whole (very long) patio.  You say so what?  We'll, I'll tell you:  there was a pile of debris/dirt that I had swept up but was sitting there a long time.  Not in the bid,  they just did it.  It was no skin off their backs to do that little extra, but most companies I've dealt with only do what they bid and not an ounce more.

I am not quick to give out perfect scores on any review site.  I got my money's worth, very nice and proficient, friendly and communicative service, AND a backyard that looks like a backyard again, instead of a weed/tree/debris dump.

We have had Sun of the Valley out multiple times and they are always prompt and professional and friendly and most importantly they are really passionate about leaving the yard looking perfect.  When they are done servicing our yard it looks like brand new landscaping that could be featured in photos for a housing development and there is nothing that they don't do. They leave our yard spotless every time even when our weeds are really overgrown and there is torn up trash and droppings from our dog in the back , and they don't even mention it or stress about it because they are just great people that do awesome work!  Worth every penny to hire them.  Thank you Liliana!

Adam and Natalie, the whole team, was amazing! Our yard was a total disaster, and needed a ton of work. Other companies wouldn't even touch it but Adam didn't skip a beat. He (and his whole team) was reliable, took the time to talk to us and explain things, and we always felt they were there for us. I would recommend them to anyone with no hesitation

Octavio and his crew did a great job today cleaning up my back yard.  It looks fantastic.  I'm looking forward to having them come on a regular basis and keep it in good shape.

We've been working on our yard with Juan for a few months now and he is fantastic! Very responsive and shows up when he says he will. He and his crew did a 2 day job for us laying new rock, running new irrigation, new grass and planting new plants. The yard looked fantastic when they finished, we were very happy! He always answers all of our questions (we have a lot!) very patiently; he is very knowledgeable. We are so happy to have found this company!

We have a large side yard area that wasn't being used so we worked with Nico to transform this space into a play yard for our toddler. Nico was responsive and reliable and prices were fair. He also gave great advice throughout the process on the best way to design the space. Lastly, he finished the job early, which was a nice bonus as we were getting excited to finally use it. I'd highly recommend Nico for any landscaping needs.
