Reading some of Gary's negative reviews it seems that a lot of people have had similar experiences. Gary might be able to do some quality work, but I wouldn't know because he's just not professional at all.

We reached out to Gary after buying a new house in Arcadia a while back and he told us that whenever we were ready he could help us with installing ceiling fans, blinds, and whatever we may need (score!) but when we called him back to schedule something he was sick and told me he would call me back in a week.

A week goes by with no phone call, so I call him-- but no answer... and his vm is full. so I waited a couple more days and called him again, still no answer; so this time I followed up with a text asking if he was still interested in helping us out with our handyman needs and he replied yes and to let him know when we would like him to come help.

Perfect! I called him when I got back to Phoenix and he didn't answer (of course), so I texted asking when he was available and he asked if he could schedule me in for between 1-2pm on Thursday. Yes I replied, then I texted asking him a couple questions about estimates for hanging large blinds and included photos. He ignored my texts that night about the quote/estimate altogether, so I texted asking if he received my messages requesting an estimate to which he replied "Yes, I'll look at them when I'm at your house." (Not really an answer or estimate- kind of slippery).

So today rolls around and of course I'm at home waiting on this handyman to show up (of course I organized my day around him) 14 minutes before he was due for our appointment, he cancels.

He says: "Can we meet Saturday 9-930? Caught up in work."
(No apology for the inconvenience, or wasting my time, just a crap text).

Me: "You know Gary, let me talk to my boyfriend about it. After reading your Yelp! reviews we expected a little more professionalism to be honest."

He says: "Well I've been sick for the last month and been out of commission. I've been trying to catch up on my jobs. Sorry if you feel that way. I know I can't make everyone happy.

Me: "It's not a feeling. You cancelled 15 minutes before you were scheduled to show up and have been unresponsive and not very communicative with me. Those are facts. While I understand it's impossible to make everybody happy, you could do a much better job by being a little more professional.

Then-- radio silence.

Gary, you can make customers happy; how about apologizing when you're wrong and unprofessional instead of #1: making excuses, then #2: blaming me, or acting like I'm the one with unrealistic expectations when I've accommodated the date and time YOU chose and then flaked on. Would not recommend.

Yesterday Luis went to one of our rental properties to repair, paint and texture a patio ceiling that got damaged from a leaking patio roof.  He got the work done in one day and cleaned up and left things how he found them.  He is focused on making his customers satisfied with his work and if something goes awry he will be there to rectify whatever it is.  Also, when he finished the job he sent a nicely done invoice detailing everything on an itemized statement.  This is a rarity in the trades.  It was nicely typed not   illegible hand written like most contractors, that is if you ever get one! He will be our go to handyman for our numerous rental properties.

Michele seriously has the best dudes ever working her her! I called her sort of last minute for some repairs on my condo and she answered herself and let me know which repairs could easily be done. There was a repairman named George who was super nice at my door the following Monday at 7:30 and he was able to quickly fix my door, some drywall and install new smoke detectors.

We will definitely use her company again!

Stan calls back. He shows up on time. He works efficiently, but also careful to do it right. Really can't say enough how much we appreciate him. Highly recommend!

The guy showed up when he promised and did a great job! The cost was very reasonable and exactly what they quoted me. He even cleaned up the box and hauled off the old unit for us. Thanks.

Still waiting to hear back from this company. I reached out several times, but I did not get any reply. I'm sure they are great, but I did not get to see their work.

Mark is absolutely AMAZING!!!  Save yourself time and effort and call him first.  He did a magnificent job installing multiple outside power outlets on my home and did it for less than a supposed "family friend" wanted to charge us.  In fact he did it for 1/3 the cost.  We will have Mark back to install our patio ceiling fans soon!  Thank you Mark for your amazing attitude and reliability!

Mr. Garcia worked very hard on the waterfall faucet for my tub.  It was a difficult job, and the faucet came without any diagrams. Part of the install really did need some explaining.  He did his best but I need to contact the company and ask one question for the job to be completed.
I am going to have him do several more jobs for me.

Soooo RUDE!
Not only is the voicemail SOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL but the owner Mike was nothing short of a jerk.
He got mad when I declined his quote and continuously messages me until I blocked him.
Why would I pay for a $55 Hrly rate plus whatever materials you are going to buy when The entire job was quoted for $60 from another Yelp business?
He got mad and texts me " you get what you pay for" well Not with Mike you don't. You pay twice the amount and get the same as if you'd used another reputable Yelp business.

Do yourself a favor, steer clear from this man. I finally blocked his number so he'd leave me alone.

In response to his comment which clearly shows how professional he is...Good luck sir, very happy we have yelp to inform others about people like you!    

And for anyone interested I will update review once repair is done by other Yelp company and post all their info so others can use them instead of mad Mike here.

I called Steve for an issue with my toilet that was just running consistently. He walked me through some steps over the phone, and when I got home I tried them, and it worked!!! He took time out of his day and could have easily charged me a service call to come out and do it himself, but he didn't! Although he did offer if those steps didn't work! Instantly gained my trust! I will be calling him now for any handyman jobs moving forward!! Thanks, Steve!!!! You're awesome!!

We had Dave handle a couple of projects around our house that we weren't willing to tackle. He communicated well before and during the projects, showed up on time and his rates were reasonable. The jobs were well done!

After my first successful and enjoyable project I decided to hire them again for some installation work. This day was a nightmare from minute one when Jonathan showed up LATE after calling me one hour prior to scheduled time. He completed the tasks under said time frame but it was costly nonetheless. When he was in his truck about to leave I stepped outside to check my trash can...sure enough he tossed all the non-working lights, fan, lightbulbs and caulking in my garbage can!
This is Hazardous Waste and I could have been fined (I had previously gotten notice from the City of Phoenix about bulk pick up that was not acceptable). This company should have had more common sense than me and take the old to dispose of...I had already paid to have junk removed. I will not recommend or be back with my money!  They tried to compensate but still was not satisfied with his unprofessionalism.

I purchased a gas grill that honestly after having read the assembly instructions was intimidated , it would take me forever to do.  So I said "Screw That!" and hired Erick.  He was prompt, professional, friendly and very reasonably priced.  Despite being unfamiliar with the type of grill I purchased, he still managed to knock it out in about 1 1/2 hr.   He was neat and organized, very impressive.  He was well worth the cost and I will not hesitate  to use him again, or recommend his services to anybody.

Needed 2 faucets and ceiling fan replaced. Great job and price, and Luke was friendly, knowledgeable and professional!

John was great! I needed a list of items repaired on my rental property. John coordinated with the tenant directly to complete all of the items while also keeping me informed of the progress and costs. Not only did he complete all of the repairs, he went out of his way to keep material costs down and also did a bunch of research to find amazing deals on a dishwasher and garbage disposal. From the first meeting to the last, John was professional, knowledgeable and flexible. Definitely, definitely recommend!

Justin was awesome! He responded quickly to request and was very reasonably priced. He completed projects on time and with a smile. Highly recommend.

Fast and efficient. Phil was able to come out the same day and had my problem solved in less than 30 minutes. So much easier than spending my time trying to figure it out. Leave it to the professionals :-) Thank you Phil! A+++.

Jeremy has been great to work with! He did a few small stucco repairs for us, at a very reasonable price. He is a good craftsman and obviously takes pride in his work. He has provided good communication and clearly understandable quotes throughout the process. We already have a few more projects that we are going to have him look at. We highly recommend Jeremy The Handyman!
