Every technician that's been to my home has been friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.  I've had prompt, courtesy emergency service as well.  Recently had new HVAC system installed and just today, a new water heater on extremely short notice.  HVAC system has performed flawlessly since installation last year.  I highly recommend them, and also joining the comfort club that they offer.  It's well worth it.

Run far away. Don't even let them in your house. This company is dishonest. Like many other reports on the web they showed me pictures and video of a failed heat exchanger that were not my unit. The amount of scare tactics and gimmicks used are comical and so over the top. Do not recommend.

Emergency arose a couple weeks ago when furnace went out. I called my regular service company but they could not promise me same day service.  I ended up calling Home Comfort Experts and they responded that same day. The technician they dispatched, Mr. Chris Purtzer, was not only very competent but also very professional and friendly.  If and when this type of service is needed again, I won't hesitate in giving HCE another call.

In January 2023 we called Home Comfort Experts to come in and do an annual furnace check and to sign up to have the air conditioning checked in the Spring.
They arrived on time and were very nice and professional. Once the check was done we were told that we would need a new furnace or a very costly repair done. Pictures were shown to us so we would understand what was wrong.
New furnaces are running about $10,000. Needless to say we were shocked since the furnace was only 7-8 years old.
The difference options were reviewed and the bill was paid in full along with signing up for the annual service check for the air conditioner.
We decided to get a second opinion. The company that came told us nothing was wrong and provided us with pictures.
We called the office and talked to Rose. She was very nice and assured us they didn't do business that way and wanted to send out another technician.  He arrived on time and was very professional.  He too found nothing wrong and provided us with pictures.
We choose not to continue with Home Comfort Experts.  Just didn't feel warm and fuzzy about diving into debt over nothing.
I agreed to pay for one service call but requested a cancelation and refund on the contract to have them come back. Rose agreed.
At present I have called 3 more times. Once I talked to Rose who told me she would start the return again, once she was on vacation  and the 3rd time she would not take my call because she was talking to a customer.
I don't expect anything more to change, it's just not enough money for a company this size but I would like to remind everyone to get a second opinion when told you need a new furnace or air conditioner.
When I see the sign in the yards of customers thinking they are in good hands it makes me very sad to think of the debt they may incur needlessly.
The business we called for the second opinion is small family owned and has been around for 30+ years.

We started working with Home Comfort about a year ago when we had our furnace serviced before the winter. They scheduled us for that same week.  Anyone that comes into the house puts on footies so they don't track in dirt or mud.  
During the first service, they told us that our furnace was in great condition but our air conditioner was 20 years old and would need to be replaced soon.  Which we decided to do this summer.  We got a few estimates from other companies.  What made Home Comfort stand out is that the salesman checked everything.  He took measurements  of the furnace, he checked the insulation in the attic, and the estimate was over $900 less than any other estimates we'd received.
Our new A/C was installed within 2 days.  Our purchase included a vent cleaning that was also scheduled rather quickly.  Customer service was outstanding.  The vent cleaning was a 4 hour process, and Dave was super friendly.  He even told us about an additional filtration system to help with my allergy issues.  He noticed that our carbon monoxide detector was no longer working.  He suggested a brand and even told us the best areas to install it.
Once all was said and done, we got a thank you note with a mug.  It's the little things.

My service contract them expired May 31 2016, so I had it serviced on the 21st. At that time I was told that I would be good thru the end of the season. Unfortunately, when it stopped working on July 20, I was told that I would have to pay an additional $89 service call since my contract had expired. Since I was no longer under contract it would be almost a week before they could schedule me. If I could give them zero stars, I would!

We have been using Home Comfort for decades and never been disappointed. They are clean and pay close attention to how they leave my house after their work is finished. Would highly recommend club membership as well. I paid nothing today.

Just had these people our for on our furnace program.  They told us we had mold in our furnace and needed some whole house air purification system.  Then our hot water heater should be replaced or an estimated $2,000.00.  In addition, we have a Mitsubishi heat pump for a bonus room that had stopped working.  They said it was beyond repair and that it would have to be replaced.....the estimate for that.......$7,000.00-$10,000.00.  We thought that was very high and then remembered that our neighbor had just had a similar unit installed within the last 30 days, his price for a new unit and installation $3500.00!!!!!  So home comfort would charge double on the low end of the estimate!!!!  Double!!!!  Then wanted us to do a monthly payment program, no way...I would not trust anything they say at this point.  We will not be doing business with these people.....beware!!!!!

Possibly the dumbest company I've ever dealt with. They won't come out if you AirB&B or VRBO your house. These mopes also will only deal with the owner so they have no interest in the multiple millions of dollars of property managed for remote owners which is pretty common around UND.

Dave and his team were awesome on both occasions. They worked diligently and didn't make a mess. They cleaned as they went and did a thorough job. He set up the new system, answered all my questions and reassured me on our purchase. Great job!!!

This past weekend, my husband and I replaced the last of our plants which were killed off by Home Comfort Experts after they left an oil spill in June.  Although it took the EPA to get them to return and clean up the mess, our garden business had to be shut down for the remainder of the summer.  Hopefully, (next season) without this awful company's interference, we may have a more profitable year.

I  bought a new system from them, the first year all was good  then they  started doing less and changed more  . Always trying to sell you something more. I had problems with the account then trying to get them to  do what they were supposed to do, finally left them for another company  doing more  and charging me less.

Just heard a friend paid $7k for a new AC that I paid $2K for   A complete ripe off even assuming inflation.  Avoid this company.
Techs are compensated to replace units and took advantage of this person.

Home Comfort Experts employee Tim Flora was great. He arrived promptly and greeted me very professionally. He and his helper Adam worked tirelessly all day to get the old a/c and heater unit out and the new ones installed. Tim went way beyond our expectations replacing old lines and vents with new ones and rerouting things to make it more efficient. When he was finished he stayed and cleaned up all the left over debris and then explained how the system works so that I understood and could program the thermostat myself. I would recommend Tim and Home Comfort Experts to anyone needing their heating and cooling systems replaced

When it's 95 degrees out, it's good to see the good work and the timeline they used to get me back in the comfort zone . I can't say enough about how professional, polite, and friendly the installers Landon and Tim were. I was very happy with the entire process, and highly recommend them. After installation, they (Josh) returned and cleaned the duct work. He was professional and friendly, and as neat as possible considering the equipment he used to clean things. I'm satisfied so far with their entire process and would recommend them.

Well, we had a misunderstanding about some things and they have been resolved. Very professional and courteous. From the office to the techs. I feel secure knowing that they will stand behind their service & equipment.

Just had my air ducts cleaned. House is 73 years old and I doubt they've ever been done. Dave was on time as promised. He was professional, courteous, friendly etc.  All in all I have been satisfied with Home Comfort.

Run far away from this company! Their main goal seems to be to sell you a whole new furnace! We had a guy from them come out for $169 for a service call. The first thing he said was that we needed a new furnace. Then, he told us if we wanted to change the part that was actually broken, it'll cost $1000 to replace and the furnace will still need to be replaced. Instead, we got another opinion and we were able to change the part for $200. This company is the most expensive in town so go somewhere else to save some money! They aren't experts as they call themselves, just another company buying out all the small ones in south bend.

BEWARE!!!  BAIT AND SWITCH!
I paid to have them come out and perform a tune up on my hvac system. This was supposed to be a 90 minute tune up where they told me they would blow off the motors and coils, tighten all belts, lubricate all moving parts, adjust gas valve and gas flow, and do a routine inspection.  The tech came out and spent no more than 15 minutes in our house, told us we have cracks in our heat exchanger, and we would need a new unit.  He said if we act today, we could get a unit for $8000, but tomorrow the price would be going up to $12000!  He shut off our hvac, had my wife totally freaked out, and then left without performing any additional work.  He did not even meter at the register for carbon  monixide, nor did he perform the tune up that I paid for.  This tune up special is just an excuse to get inside your home and tell you you need a new system.  I called them and expressed my displeasure and wanted a refund, which they would not give me.  Then, he had the nerve to put a sign in our yard promoting the business, without asking us first!  BUYER BEWARE!!!

UPDATE:  4-19-2017:  After initial calling to get a refund for the services was refused, I submitted a claim to the Better Business Bureau.  Todd from Home Comforts then responded and said I could get a refund.  I called Home Comforts and the receptionist was unsure about the refund process, although very nice on the phone.  She called me back the next day and said a refund check would be send out, which I received in full.

I can't attest to the product or service they sell because I would NEVER purchase their overpriced product. As soon as the technician came to the house for a quote, it felt like I was being sold a Kirby vacuum. It was over the top salesman. I didn't get the vibe that he wanted to sell me what I need. He wanted to sell to fill his pockets. He even came prepared with quotes from OTHER customers to try and prove to me that he wasn't overpriced. I had three quotes done and this company will not be the one I choose. I would advise this company to tone the salesman character of their employees. Also someone should teach them that it's very unprofessional to bad mouth other companies in town. I was not impressed.

I'd probably give them only a single star, except for the fact that we've been using them for maybe 4-5 years and, until the last year or so, their service and techs were great.  We had them install a water heater, do several plumbing projects and check on our HVAC and were very pleased with how all of that went.

But it seems like they're growing, and growth/revenue seems to be displacing customer service as the priority.  (Ever since our home base office switched to a closer, presumably new, location in Niles, everything kind of fell apart.)

We've been on their Comfort Club plan for the last maybe 4 years or so, which gives us an AC, furnace and plumbing check-up each, once per year.  Unlike the tech who came out for a bunch of years, the guy they sent last fall just spent the whole check-up trying to up-sell us on some kind of weird, expensive home filtration system or something, and then did some work that I didn't ask for and charged me for it.

This summer, I've been trying to get the plumbing and AC check-up scheduled, and, between those two appointments, they have either no-showed, canceled, or gotten the date wrong 5 different times.  I finally just gave up and told them not to bother coming.

So, if you're thinking of calling them out for a specific problem and you can actually get them to come out, I imagine the service you receive will still be pretty good.  But I'd steer clear of getting on any plan or depending on customer service, since it feels like a business that's heavily incenting its staff for sales/top-line above all else, including customer service.  And I'd probably just steer clear altogether these days.

I will say they were pretty prompt and friendly about refunding me this year's Comfort Club fees.  So there's that, at least. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Home Comfort Experts recently did plumbing work in our house. Jeremy Gadsby was our plumber. He has inspected our plumbing, fixed drain issues, leaks, and toilets. His warm manner and knowledge put us at ease to know we were making the right choice.  Jeremy will always give an estimate that is fair, but usually more than the final payment. Just last week our water shut off throughout the house. Jeremy was here within 3 hours. He replaced our water bladder as quickly as possible. We'll request Jeremy Gadsby again!

At 11:00 PM, our toilets began to gurgle about once every ten minutes. Every time they did, water began pouring from the main floor into the basement. We called because they advertised emergency service. After talking to the third representative at the company, a technician called me around 12:30 AM. When he called, he said, I am not a plumber. I'm an HVAC technician. I will charge you $174 for the emergency call, then you will be charged $200 for me to turn off your water. Then a plumber will come back tomorrow, charge you $174 for the call then whatever the work will cost, but a minimum of $200. I am more than incensed that I did not get this information from the representatives in the first place, so I could call another company, besides this kind of price gouging. Now I am calling another company at 12:30. We have no water. No toilets. and water all over the basement, and I am supposed to go to work at 6:00 in the morning and we're on the back of the list for another company. How can they make me smile? Serve the  community!

Used their service several years ago for water heater malfunction. They sent first some one who said we need to put new heater. We paid and got new one . Still water will not heat up.
They sent 2 different people who were trainee for trouble shooting but could not figure out. My husband went on line and figured out that there was a problem with connecting valve .
It was fixed then. They did not take new tank back nor credited towards new tank. Took some money less towards labour.
Be aware of technicians they send as they may be not well trained or gimmick of selling  new products.
They apologized later but I lost my money towards buying new tank unnecessarily

We had our furnace and airconditioning system replaced some 2 years ago. I was then little bit of disappointed that it took them 12 hrs to finish the installation.....BUT ITS WORTH EVERY SECOND after they had completed the job....never doubted their professionalism, very courteous....works very clean no matter how dirty the place that they are working. And of course, they are using the best aircondtion and furnace system.....

Chris did a wonderful job explaining the condition of the furnace. The change in the industry as far as air conditioning seer levels, and gave me the information I needed to plan out whether or not my need for a new heating and air conditioning system was an immediate issue or one I just needed to plan out for the next year or 2. Without his expertise I don't know how I would come to a decision.  Thank you Home Comfort for finding such exemplary team members. Will definitely be using you in the future.

I called Home DisComfort Experts only because the previous owner had used them to install their furnace and blower and their label was on the furnace. The AC stopped blowing, and being August it had to be fixed. The technician came out and gave me the bad news that the motor that ran the blower was out. It was only a little over a year old he said, so he would order the part and I wouldn't have to pay to have it replaced. (The sticker actually said it was two years old.) He said it would take 3 to 5 days, up to a week to get the part in and they would let me know. That service visit was $124.  Not hearing anything in a week I called them and was told the part hadn't come in. Three days later I called and again she said they would call me when it came in. Th next morning I got a call from them asking me to call. I was told that I would have to pay for labor, and they would order the part. I asked her to have the manager call me. In the mean time I called a local company I had used before and told them gave them the model and serial number of the furnace and told them it was a blower motor. He said he would call me back in 15 minutes, which he did. He said they could get the part and be out in an hour or so. I was kind of surprised as I had been waiting almost two weeks for the motor. I asked him about the part and he said as it is a common manufacturer, Trane, the part was readily available, in fact they would go to a supply store and pick it up. I had them do the work and with an hour or so they were already there and replacing the motor. The next morning the manager from Home Discomfort Experts called. He told me the tech shouldn't have told me they could get it in 3 to 5 days, as it could take up to two weeks.  I then told him that I had called a trusted company I had used before and why was it they could get it in and hour and it took them two weeks? He replied almost proudly We buy direct from the manufacturer. To which  I replied, so you would keep a customer waiting for two weeks in August with no AC when the part can be picked up here  in a supply store! He did offer to take $40 off the labor cost, which almost seemed like an insult at that point. We went from free installation to $240 to $200.

-Home Discomfort Experts are not local to Fort Wayne, but Mishawaka. When you try to contact them, all calls are routed through Mishawaka. The manager told me they maintain an office here.
-Their parts are ordered from the manufacturer which in my case took almost two weeks. This saves them money at the expense of service to customers.
-I highly recommend you do not waste your time with  Home DisComfort Experts. I wasted almost two weeks in August heat only to find a local provider that could do it immediately.

Technicians are professional and knowledgeable in their field. They and receptionists I have encountered have all been friendly.

I have so far used plumbing, A/C, and furnace services. Workers are thorough in finding any problems or simply just tuning up the system. I know I can call them any time day or night and there will always be someone available to help.

I had Adam come out to give me a quote on a ductless heating/air system. Punctual , professional with great solutions. My home is a 100 year old cottage. Based on his representation this company is professional in all aspects. I hope the quote is inline with my expectations.

They came out for maintenance/cleaning of a/c unit and didn't even clean the unit. The a/c went out a week later. The capacitor should've been changed because the wire on it was so corroded and not even attached. Then the man gave me an estimate for cleaning the ducts, which was outrageous! I will never call them for anything!

Accidentally cut a wire from my AC when doing yard work. Chad came out and fixed it in no time! Was friendly and professional. However I will say 88 bucks for a quick fix is pretty steep

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Technicians are unethical and take advantage of people in an emergency situation. Technicians bully costumers into paying inflated prices when they are already in a bad situation.

Adam came back twice to make sure we were properly taken care of. He worked late cleaned up after himself and did an amazing job, exactly what we needed to have done. He was knowledgeable he was helpful and he answered a lot of the questions so that we understood how our furnace was working. We have a lot of confidence in Home Comfort and the people that they have trained to take care of people like us! In this day and age it means so much to  be able to trust people in your home. Home Comfort is so thorough, they introduce us by texting the picture and the information about the person they are sending to your home. They take great care and making sure they're not tracking dirt or anything into your home. We are so glad we chose this company to take care of our heating and cooling needs!

We got a new A/C & Heater from Home Comfort Experts in the spring and they really went above and beyond in dealing with our haphazard duct work

We also had them out to replace the gas valve that R.A.S. broke when we bought our stove from Home Depot. The Home Comfort Experts tech was knowledgeable, quick, and affordable. It was a huge relief to have them out so quickly and to take care of the situation so easily.

So yesterday (coincidentally 'world water day') I called Home Comfort Experts, Inc. b/c our water heater was leaking. They managed to fit us into their day. Their two guys showed up early. They were very professional & clean in their uniforms & put on shoe covers when on carpet areas.

They then diagnosed a need to replace our water heater. {ugh} The guys were able to do it in 1 hr & 15 min. and were very efficient, tidy and pleasant. They put down tarp covering all the way from the front door to the basement spot for wheeling in the new one. They explained things well. They put a few too many HCE phone # reminder stickers around my maintenance room though.

Short version: Overall, I would definitely recommend them if you need work done.

Great job! Jason,the plumber , is such a nice person. He explains things so that even I can understand!
The only reason it is not five stars is that I had to wait several days to get on the schedule. He arrived on time and finished the job in an hour.

Don't do business with these Rip-off Experts. (Wish this could be a-5). My 96 year old mom called them to repair her toilet. They drove to her house, told her it needed to be repaired, did no work and sent her a bill for $125 for driving to the house. They refused to order a part needed for the repairs until she paid the trip fee. She paid an honest plumber who ordered the part, did the repairs and sent a bill. Now my 97 year old aunt is receiving collection calls from an attorney (my mom has since passed away). The calls are being answered by her hospice caregivers, so now my cousin started receiving collection calls as well. I'm mad as hell I had to pay these people to stop the harassment. In my opinion they are the epitome of dishonesty. IT'S MY OPINION THAT YOU SHOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE IF YOU WANT HONEST ETHICAL SERVICE. THEY MUST HAVE A HUGE LOT OF COLLECTION ACCOUNTS IF THEY CAN AFFORD TO PAY AN ATTORNEY TO COLLECT A BILL THAT'S LESS THAN $125 (CHARGED FOR DOING NO WORK).
