The worst. Had an emergency, called at 10am, was told someone would be there between 1:30 and 3:30. Got a call at 3 saying they would be a couple minutes behind, I asked them to hurry because it was an emergency and water was flowing in my house. Called at 4 to get a status update, they connected me to the dispatcher, who said there was no way someone could get there until 9pm. Called back to ask the lady who told me 1:30 - 3:30 what happened and how they could be so wrong on the timeframe, and she just kept asking if I wanted to be connected to the dispatcher again because he has more accurate timeframes....? They made no attempt to apologize, no attempt to come out at 9 either - thank god I just called another company anyways. They made me sit around for 6 hours waiting, before they told me they couldn't get there until 9. Very unprofessional, and a waste of time. Plenty of better options in town.
Michael was courteous, explained things well, gave an accurate estimate, and did a good job with both the plumbing and helping with the peripheral work as needed. It was a great relief to have someone available on a Saturday afternoon after several places I located on Angie's list were unavailable.
So far not a great experience. I've used there services last year and was happy. I had an issue with a clogged toilet and tub and they couldn't get a technician out until a day later. They called me today at 10:47am and said a technician was on their way (no ETA GIVEN). So at 12:10pm I called back and said no one showed up and wanted a ETA. We only have 1 bathroom in our home, so it's a bit annoying when you can't use it for 24 hours. Finally at 12:40pm technician arrives. I explained the issue and he went straight in and rain the water in the shower (which was over flowing yesterday) and flushing the toilet constantly to make sure water would go down. I had used the Roto-Rooter pipe shield the night before to help clear and de-grease the pipes. And after probably 20 flushes and him running our shower water 4x he walks out shrugging with his hands in the air and said, I guess the pipe shield fixed the problem. He said there was no charge for coming out since he didn't do anything which is great! But said to call back if t happens again.

Drini from Roto Rooter came to fix a bath tub drainage problem. It was so easy to schedule and they were available with appointments the same day. Drini was excellent, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He fixed the issue so quickly and he explained the problem to me in a way that I could understand. I would definitely call Roto Rooter again for any plumbing or water issue in the future. Thank you so much!
I had a collapsed line in two places needing 25 feet of rerouted sewer line. I was assigned an amazing team. Tyler and Cody were professional, dedicated, and perfectionist. Very personable during a stressful time. I would have to say they were pitch perfect! Highly recommend this team.
I HATE giving bad reviews but this was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I was quoted to fix a water leak that a technician would be arriving between 9 and 1. They would call me thirty minutes before. By eleven I hadn't heard anything and then got a call saying I was next on the list and it would be about an hour to an hour and a half.. it is now 5:16 and no one has come to fix our water leak. Thank goodness this was not an emergency. I talked to the dispatcher and was actually hung up on so that was pleasant. I was given the run around that they didn't have many technicians and jobs were running long-if that is the case then don't over schedule! Very frustrating experience for a company I thought would be one of the best.
I called with my problem at 11am and the dispatcher said that a tech would be out between 1pm and 3pm. She called at 1:15 to say the tech was running late and then again at 1:30 to say he was on his way. This was a welcome change from the usual service tech who promises to come at a specified time, never to show up or call. The Roto-Rooter tech was knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and communicative. He diagnosed the problem, offered three approaches to solving the problem with clearly described possible outcomes and costs and then carried out the selected course of action. The repair was completely successful. Roto-Rooter will get all my plumbing work in the future.
So, we had an outside drain blockage on a Sunday afternoon that had been cleared several years before -- typical root intrusion. The tech showed up and informed me that the cost would be $500 (!). Asked if that was the charge because it was a Sunday, he said no, that is the normal price. (The previous charge by another company was $185.) Reluctantly, circumstances being what they were, I consented. 45 minutes later, he was done, and informed me that the old drains needed replacing (the previous owner must have used Draino, he said, with no evidence) and that the office would contact me for that service. Well, fat chance of that! After paying an absurd $500, I could only imagine what they would charge for that! The company Roto Rooter, their initial reason for being was that it would clear the inevitable roots that would find their way into most drains: they came with dispatch, did the job, and were gone. Now, they want to replace the whole drain system for untold thousands, the necessity for which is dubious. Pressuring senior citizens under such circumstances does not sit well with me.

First class all the way told what they would do and the costs got more than we bargained for but Raif the technician would not leave until he was finished.
Cleared up afterwards he was most welcome in my home and of all the technicians from different companies he was by far the most polite and engaging.
Second review, dropped to 2 stars: Called for service at my home. Received a text at 7:15 am that tech would be here in 30 min; showed up 90 min later. Tech barely spoke English. Showed him Check in coupon for $50 off service (which says $60 on the Yelp page) said ok. Worked on master bathroom, said he'd have to remove toilet to work on clog. I left him to do his job and when he was done, he explained that clog was due to build-up and grease (I never dump grease down my toilet or kitchen sink). I was concerned about a possible tree root and asked if he used a camera (which is pretty standard and was used on my daughters visit last year). He stated that the camera is a different department and he doesn't use one. When it came time for the bill, I reminded him of the $50 coupon and he argued with me saying it was only $40 off. Eventually, and I say this because it took ten minutes of back and forth, he gave me the $50 off. I called the company back to speak with a manager about the (lack of) camera inspection. The rep tried to call the local office but no one answered and she left them a message to call me. When I didn't hear back later that day, I called the local office and left a message for a call back. That was 4 days ago and still no return call. Would NOT recommend. Go on Next Door and find out who your neighbors are using, which is what I wish I had done.
First review,2017, 5 Stars:My daughter was in need of emergency plumbing services over the weekend and received excellent service and a reasonable price from Roto Rooter. She had previously called Pink Plumber who quoted almost double the price! I highly recommend Roto Rooter and would use them again.

Jason Zach with Roto-Rooter responded to my call within less than one hour. I had a clog that was interconnected disabling use of kitchen sink, dishwasher, and bathroom shower. Jason was extremely polite, respectful, friendly and knowledgeable on top of being timely. After clearing the hair clog from the shower drain, we kept both the kitchen sink and dishwasher running with the shower for some time to ensure all 3 areas could function simultaneously without the back up resuming. Jason also had me drain the dishwasher before he left to check again. The back up in the shower had created a disgusting mess in my white walk in shower. Jason cleaned the entire shower floor on his hands and knees until it was spotless. Jason also worked with a tarp down to protect my white tile floors and left the house clean and tidy as if there was never an issue. Having the $60 coupon was an added relief to a job which you hate spending your hard earned money on, when you would rather spend your money on summer vacation, not a giant hairball. If you want a fast response, a wonderful customer service experience, a fair price, and a job with great reliable results, definitely request Jason Zach at Roto-Rooter in the Tampa Bay Area. It is hard to put your trust in a stranger when you are a home owner. I am truly grateful for the care I received today and would definitely highly recommend Jason Zach to anyone in need of plumbing service. Timely, Friendly, Knowledgeable, High Quality Results! Guaranteed for 6 Months! 813-889-8430
Service from start to finish was fantastic. I called and they were at my house within the hour. A manager also came out to assess the water damage and got a repair/restoration crew going right away. Everyone was very friendly and professional.
I had an emergency situation on a holiday. Most places were charging fees for service, but not Roto-Rooter. A technician came out, he was very professional, informative and nice. He found what was wrong and gave me suggestions. He even worked on our kitchen pipes for a discount because he knew he couldn't fix it for good.
The only thing I felt could be improved is the price. I spent about $500 for them to unclog my bathroom pipes (though they did have roots growing in them) and to work on the kitchen pipes. I was then quoted $2000 to replace my bathroom pipes. These amounts were a bit unreal to me.
I also had to wait much longer than the original window I had been told as they were running behind. As it was a holiday, I didn't care as I needed it done (only one bathroom in our house of 3 people, no bueno).
Overall, they were great, just a bit out of budget for me.

I had a clogged toilet. They came 24 hours later and snaked my toilet. It took the guy 5 minutes to unclog it. He then charged me 425.00. for 5 minutes work.
I had a non-emergent issue with my garbage disposal and I was able to have a technician out the same day to give a free estimate. Although having a window of time for an appointment can be annoying, I received a call 30min prior to the technician showing up to let me know he was on the way. The plumber, Robert W, was very pleasant, helpful, quick and cleaned up his work area after he was done. I will definitely call roto-rooter and Robert with any plumbing issues in the future.
Horrible pricing $500 to clean a drain. WILL NEVER USE AGAIN
Tech did a good job although we had to ask to put the mask back on!
If I could give them zero stars I would. This rating has nothing to do with the actual plumbing team but rather the customer service agents. After hurricane Irma came my neighbors tree was uprooted busting my main water line that runs from my meter to my house. The city had to come to my house and turn the water off at the meter as it was flooding the yard and almost flooding my house. That then resulted in my house not only having no power but no water as well until the pipe was fixed. When I called customer service to try and get someone out to take a look she told me in order for us to come out your water would have to be on I then reiterated that the water was only turned off at the meter and can be turned on but if it's turned on water will spray everywhere. She only then repeated the statement that we would need to have water for someone to come out. I then had to tell her in order for the water to be turned on I would need a plumber to fix the pipes. She finally agreed to send someone out the next day. However when the next day came it was just another excuse. She called at 8:45 in the morning to ask if we had power. When I advised her I'm unsure as my house is not livable without water and power so I'm staying at a friends an hour away who also has no power but they at least have water. She showed no empathy and just states I'll have to reschedule you when you have power. Why does a plumber need power to assess the damage of outside pipes? I remind you my home town just underwent a natural disaster, this lady was calling from a Maryland area code so she was unaffected and could careless with what we are going through. She remained monotoned and unconcerned with my issue. I'm a manager for a customer service contact center and if this lady was one of my associates her treatment to customers would not be tolerated. They should be trained to at least show some type of empathy to customers facing a hard time.
I was able to call two other companies, the drain team and advanced plumbing. Both called me back in an hour or so when a plumber was available. The drain team came out right away and assessed the damaged and even offered to do a temp fix so I could have water in the mean time. Advanced is currently still set to come out later today to take a look. Its funny as neither of these companies needed water or power at my house to come to my residence to assess the damage of the water line.
My recommendation - CALL THE DRAIN TEAM FOR YOUR PLUMBING NEEDS.
Faster than expected, reasonable rates ($200 for toilet drain issue) and felt technician was polite and competent. I would definitely use them again. I made sure to ask all the options for fixing and pricing, and all were prices I could live with. It was Friday evening with only bathroom in home not functioning, it was fast and successful, so my whole family is happy!

After a week of fighting them, our two toilets decided not to function anymore first thing in the morning. Major inconvenience. We tried everything we found online, to no avail. I contacted ROTO-ROOTER for service. I tried to impress the dispatcher that it was an emergency situation. Although the nearest tech coudln't get here for two hours, I thought that was resonable. He was delayed even longer than that on another job, but their office called me three times to keep me informed. Their tech, Drini, knew exactly what the problem was, drains clogged up with sediment, and told me how he was going to solve it, what the cost would be, plus a senior discount. It took him just over an hour, and he was very professional, polite, with the blue booties, and we were impressed because two of our neighbors knew him from him working on their houses. That was re-assuring. He did not try to sell us on expensive trenching/replacement, and even gave me some of their proprietary drain cleaner that is not caustic and smells better than the box store brand.
We were very happy and would not hesitate to recommend Drini or ROTO-ROOTER as a plumbing service provider.
Sincerely,
Mr. Swift

Once we were able to connect & the technician came, the service was great. Professional & the problems fixed. The only thing I can say that was a bit of a shocker was the price - it's not cheap. But the problem was solved and that was what I needed.

Over-priced and did not do a good job. Had much better experience with Rooter-Man.
Called Roto-Rooter to come fix an issue with a sewer line that was backing up which we suspect has a root issue. To make matters more challenging, we live out of town and we have short term renters in the house. The Roto-Rooter tech gave me a cost of $375 to snake it, which seemed pretty high to start with. He ran a snake twice, but apparently not a camera, and failed to find a problem, thus telling me that there was a problem on the city side. After the city ran a camera and confirmed that no, the problem is definitely on our side, I called Rooter-Man.
Joe, the Rooter-Man tech quoted me $225 to fix the issue, which he resolved within 45 minutes. He inspected the entire line and was able to correctly diagnose the problem of a pvc joint that had not been glued together which was allowing roots into the pipe. He was very efficient, complete and professional. He cut out the roots to resolve the issue in the short term and quoted me $375 to come back, dig up and repair the actual pipe for the long-term solution. When Roto Rooter had given me a quote to permanently fix the same problem a few years ago it was for....wait for it.... $5000. Yeah, I won't be calling Roto-Rooter again.
Try Rooter-Man. If I had called them first, I would have saved about 24 hours of headaches and unhappy renters, not to mention a lot of money. They will be my plumber of choice going forward.

I am pleased with the work done by Roto-Rooter in St. Petersburg. I have used this company on at least three occasions for plumbing problems and I would highly recommend the company. My most recent problem was a clogged toilet late at night. This was a real emergency for me as a wheelchair user and Roto-Rooter sent someone out (Robert A.) at near midnight to fix my problem. He did the job right, had everything needed on his truck as advertised and was professional and courteous.
I am thankful that there is someone in the area that provides top notch service 24 hours a day. This company has done other work for me over the years and resolved issues that other plumbers had missed. While the company may not be the least expensive company one can hire, getting the job done right the first time and having someone to call at any hour is worth the price. I have found all of their employees sent to me to be honest and clear about what needs to be done, and I will certainly use the company in the future when needed.

We live in VA and own a second home in the St Petersburg, Florida area. Our adult daughter lives in our Florida home until we move there. She contacted us about 11 PM that the shower and toilet in the master bath were backing up with dirty water. It was a mess and overflowing in to the bedroom. I called Roto Rooter and the lady on the phone was so nice and helpful. By 11:30 a crew was there and took care of the problem and it didn't cost us a fortune. They are now my go to plumber. Thank you Roto- Rooter. You saved the day...well the NIGHT.
