Chris Riggs is by far the best Handyman/person around. Him and his crew did a small remodel and popcorn removal in our living room and of course it looks great. Unfortunately we had another Handyman service come and seal our front door due to warm air entering. Chris was not available that day so we didn't have may options. Well, shame on us as we should have waited for Chris to become available. The seal and insulation was coming off a week later. We made an appointment with Chris to give us a bid of taking out our sliding patio door and installing French Doors and we had him look at the door. Thanks god we did as the last contractor installed the incorrect material. Oh well, lessened learned, we will wait a coup extra days for Priority One. Chris will be here today 6/8/2018 to insulate back door and front door that was done improperly and at that time we will let him know which French door we would like installed. We will take before and after photos of course because we know how great this work will look. Looking forward to this afternoon. Chris and for our door installed. Thanks again to you and your great team.

We contacted Priority One Home Repair to do some repair work on a spot in the ceiling that had water damage. They repaired the inside and outside and did a couple of other things we had been needing to have done.
We will be contacting them again for work in the future and highly recommend them to anyone in our area that needs a handyman.

I was impressed with the stellar reviews here, so I trusted several projects to Chris. It was a big learning experience for what I need to ask in future. From the beginning, he stressed high quality as his hallmark, so I accepted his quotes without haggling or getting other bids. During my home-shopping in this area, home owners seemed unfazed by a high degree of wear-and-tear -- not me -- and you notice it when you walk in my house, everything is pristine. I expected quality to mean being consistent with that.

My experience was inconsistent with every point made by other reviewers on this page: misunderstanding about what day the work was supposed to start (delays that left my preparations sitting awkwardly for days), sloppy workmanship, extended duration, and surprise pricing at the end asking for $400 extra even though I'd opted to do several tasks on my original list myself making it clear I'm on a tight budget.

They tend to arrive after 9 and leave by 3 or 4, and go to Home Depot once every day or two during that time. I didn't feel like my projects were priority one to them. At the end of a week I was told they'd have to come on Saturday to finish. After all day Saturday and Sunday, there were still more returns on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Not my fault in the least, but that's what they wanted $400 extra for.

Quality means preventing surprises in timing, workmanship, and efficiency. For every sloppy thing that required me to spend time cleaning up after them, and for every delay, especially during my weekend, they should have gotten demerits in their compensation. Quality means being straightforward about whether you can actually install that brand of shower door, before letting me place the order or signing on with you. Quality means reading the instructions so you don't have to string out the project by several days, and so I don't have to hire another handyman to correct what went wrong.

I had Chris repair dry wall and paint a number of months back.  Very pleasant to work with, fair priced, and honest.  Whatever you need or want, he can do.

I hired Chris Riggs at Priority One to do some bathroom remodeling work on my sisters' home in July of 2017. I needed to have the old bathtub removed and a walk-in shower installed. The plumbing was (as far as I know) the original circa 1964 plumbing that came with a John F. Long tract home. In retrospect, Chris may have under-bid the job not knowing some of the issues he'd encounter. However, I thought his pricing was reasonable and the work was completed timely and for the amount he'd originally quoted.

Fast forward to February, 2019, when I asked Chris for a quote to re-tile the other shower in the home. He provided an estimate which I thought was slightly high at the time so I thought I'd get a few more quotes before making the decision. He said the shower I wanted to have worked on (shower #2) was "leaking badly". After getting a quote from my regular plumber (who said he also did some shower work), I found out it wasn't shower #2 that was "leaking badly". It turns out the drain from shower #1--the one Chris had worked on--was the one that was leaking under the pan and under the wall into bathroom #2. Apparently, the drain had come loose somehow, thereby causing the leak.

I contacted Chris who, much to his credit, immediately said: "I stand by my work" and who scheduled a visit to inspect what had gone wrong with shower #1. After doing so, he agreed the drain had come loose and he needed to make things right. He scheduled a time with my sisters to fix the issues from his original work. A medical emergency on Chris's part prevented him from getting the work done on the originally scheduled date but Chris texted me right away, advised me of the situation and said he'd reschedule as soon as he was medically able to go back to work. All of that happened within the time frame he provided. He did exactly what he said he'd do and as soon as he was able, he returned to my sisters' house and spent a significant amount of time doing tear-out and drain repairs, and then putting everything back the way it should have been in shower #1.

Because I was so pleased with Chris's "I stand by my work" approach, his timeliness and his attentiveness, and because subsequent bids for shower #2 were coming in only slightly lower than Chris's shower #2 estimate from February, 2019, I decided to use him on shower #2 since I knew he'd stand by his work if anything went wrong. By then, it was early August of 2019 and because months had passed since Chris provided his original shower #2 estimate, I wrote to him to make sure his quote was still valid. Three weeks later, after getting no reply, I e-mailed him again, and got a bounce-back. I then texted Chris to see if he was still in business since my e-mail hadn't gone through. He contacted me within a day, said he wasn't sure what had happened with the e-mail foul-up and said he'd schedule another inspection at my sisters' home to make sure his pricing was unchanged from the preceding February.

According to my sisters, Chris showed up as scheduled at their house on September 6. And that was the last I ever heard from him. He never provided a new estimate, and never wrote, called or texted to say whether or not he'd still honor the pricing from the old estimate. I texted him on September 21 asking him if he was still interested in doing the job. Again, I got no response.

So, that's the story of my experience with Chris Riggs and Priority One. Take it for what you will but be aware you may get the "I stand by my work" Chris, or you may get the one who simply, and inexplicably disappears. Hopefully, you'll get the former, not the latter.

We are new to Peoria, AZ. and we hired Chris to complete some remodeling to our home. Chris was always on time and did an excellent job. We have many more projects this winter that we will offer to Chris. Many other trades did not return our calls or did not show up for the initial meeting.

Chris is highly professional and extremely knowledgeable.  He has years of prior experience building and maintaining homes, and it shows in his work.  I had both a plumbing and electrical issue.  He was able to resolve both in a reasonable time frame, and even took the time to educate me about what was wrong and how I could fix an issue I had by myself in the future.  I recommend Priority One Home Repair without hesitation to anyone looking for a quality job done right.

My insurance approved $2200.00 in repairs in my house I contacted Priority One Home Repair in Glendale and he asked me to email the list of repairs, I did, then he showed up (chris) he examined all the minor repairs and agreed to fix them for the amount approved.

He was insisting that in addition to that he will fix the roof on the cover patio, I said i could not because is no part of the list, so he wanted an additional $1275.00 on top of the $2200 i declined his offer and he accepted to do the repairs from the 17 to the 19th of August 2015.
He said he will send me a contract by email next day, HE NEVER DID
When I inquired about the contract he send me this email: (paste from his original emial)

"Hi, I landed a big job that is going to take me until the middle of September to finish so I unfortunately won't be able to complete your job in a timely manner. I will need to pass on it for now, I apologize for the inconvenience"

very disappointing, made me waste 5 days now i have to find another contractor, he cancel the repair because he wanted the extra job repair on the back patio roof, he was very persistent and I notice that he kind look upset when i did not want the extra job he offered.

After that I had Jose from Jibaramo Construction coming and he said the materials for all repairs are not more than $600 and the labor is low, he will do all of this for $1350.00
the roof on he back patio he said, it can wait and he charges $ 600 when i am ready

VERY BAD SERVICE
OVER PRICED
UNRELIABLE

I had Chris repair an area where tile work, grout, sheet rock repair and painting was necessary.  He gave an accurate quote up front, did great work and completed the job faster than I expected.   I absolutely recommend!

Happy to give 5 stars to Chris Riggs and his crew at Priority One.

We had a shower remodel abandoned midway by the first man we hired.
Priority One came in and finished the job on time and as promised.
No money until project complete. Good work without any headaches.

We will use Priority One in the future and gladly recommend their services.

we recently used Chris Riggs for a real estate client, for a few odd repairs at a property that was under contract. They did a great job and they are very professional. I am using them again for another rental property. Thanks for the great service!

My sister's coworkers recommended Chris to me and I'm glad that they did! I needed help with toilet and shutoff valve installation, and Chris quoted me a fair price and even cheaper than average plumber's price. He was able to complete the job in such a short notice and was very responsive to my email/requests which is always a plus. Chris and his two workers showed up on time and completed the job less than an hour. They're all professional and respectful, I definitely recommend Priority One to anyone :)

Chris is a good guy. One experience with him so far in repairing a beat up 2nd floor wood deck built in the 80s. The rail was falling off on this home I purchased and anyone who leaned on it would have fell 15 feet to the concrete. He did a nice job replacing the rail system and securing it properly. This is a little more challenging than many other scopes of work you might consider Chris for so I would recommend him for a wide range of services. I will use him again.

Installed 21 interior doors for us.  Put hole in one door, split the casings on 5 doors, and left with six doors that would not shut properly.  Chris talks a good game but would not recommend him for carpentry work that requires some detail.  He is better at destruction but not detail work.
